Decky ZIP installation

  • Fix the release artifact: Decky Custom URL consumes ZIP, not tar.gz. Publish XG-Mobile.zip and validate its manifest, bundled patch/scripts, and archive integrity in CI. Earlier tar.gz assets are not valid Decky Custom URL inputs.
  • Tested Decky 3.2.8 with XG Mobile 0.2.1 in Desktop Mode / Big Picture on the built-in ROG Ally display. The user completed installation through Decky; the plugin panel and backend telemetry confirmed the active RTX 4090.
  • Preserve the current driver installation. This validates plugin installation and UI, not a fresh NVIDIA installation or a Game Mode boot. Decky boot autostart remains disabled. The first external-monitor Big Picture transition went black and was recovered by stopping Decky and restarting Steam; its cause remains unresolved.

Post-install check: Steam was restarted with Decky and XG Mobile active; the user confirmed Big Picture and the plugin panel returned on the built-in screen. GitHub CI passed and the published ZIP passed archive validation. Boot autostart remains disabled.

v0.1.1 — SteamOS 3.8.4 support + shutdown freeze fix

Main changes you'll feel:

  • Shutdown with the dock connected no longer hangs. Previously you needed
a hard reset (hold power 8s); now Ally powers off in about 7 seconds and
the dock LED actually turns white instead of staying red.

  • Install works on SteamOS 3.8.4 again. The new kernel + Plasma 6.4 took
more rootfs space and the older install was failing during pacman or
DKMS build with "no space left". Install now trims locale/man/doc more
aggressively and moves the DKMS build to /home before compiling.

  • Runtime deactivate (the toggle) no longer wedges the kernel for 5
minutes when gamescope is holding nvidia-drm. It returns immediately
with a banner asking you to reboot to detach the dock cleanly. Real
hot-unplug while a game session is running isn't supported on SteamOS,
    this is the honest fallback.

  • The "Disable before unplugging" toggle is now hidden on NVIDIA when
the eGPU is active. Runtime detach doesn't actually work on SteamOS
(compositor holds the driver), and the non-functional toggle was just
confusing. Replaced by a small hint to reboot. AMD docks keep the
    toggle since amdgpu releases cleanly.

  • UI fixes: explicit spinner during activate/deactivate so you can see
something is actually happening. The install screen no longer drops
back to idle if you re-click while the sudo prompt is open.

If you were stuck on the previous build because shutdown needed a hard
reset every time, this release fixes it. Reboot once after updating so
the new xgm-shutdown script gets picked up.
