MediaCheck 0.16.0 Beta adds a temporary workspace for checking new video files before they enter your permanent library.

Download

  • MediaCheck-Setup.exe — Windows installer
  • MediaCheck-0.16.0-beta.zip — installer, testing guide, feedback form, privacy notes, release notes, and checksums

Windows SmartScreen may identify the installer as an unrecognized application because this independent beta is not digitally signed yet. Review the included SmartScreen instructions and verify the checksum below.

What changed in 0.16.0

  • Added Check new files… for downloads, copies, recordings, and encodes that are not yet in the permanent library
  • Accepts individual files or recursively scans a selected folder
  • Offers a quick structure/metadata check or an optional full decode of the primary video stream
  • Uses distinct Quick check passed and Full check passed verdicts so the result does not claim more verification than was performed
  • Detects files that still appear to be changing and asks the user to wait for the copy or download to finish
  • Keeps temporary preflight results out of the library cache, history, and persistent review states
  • Supports cancellation, plain-language details, and CSV report export
  • Fits the preflight window above the Windows taskbar and provides a scrollable details section on shorter displays

MediaCheck remains read-only. It does not copy, rename, move, repair, or delete media files.

Requirements

  • 64-bit Windows 11
  • FFprobe and FFmpeg
  • Read access to the folders being tested
