TeleFlock v0.5.0
TeleFlock 0.5.0 lets hosts run agents on a schedule and keep omp and herdr up to date by themselves, puts every omp setting in the app, spreads Dispatch tasks over a group of hosts, closes the panes of finished agents and brings them back when you need them, and makes the app much lighter on the GPU.
New
- Automations. A host can now start an omp agent on a schedule: a nightly dependency audit, a weekday standup summary, a weekly flaky-test triage. Each run gets a fresh worktree forked from
origin/main(or runs in a folder you pick), with your prompt, model, thinking level and plan mode. Schedules are cron expressions in the host's time zone; the editor has presets and shows the next runs in plain English. A run that is still busy is skipped instead of piling up, and missed runs can catch up once when the host comes back. On Linux with systemd a timer keepstf-hostdrunning across reboots, so schedules fire with no app connected. Open it from the sidebar (Automations,Ctrl+7) or More on the phone. - omp settings in the app. Everything you can configure in omp is now in TeleFlock, per host: all of omp's settings with omp's own tabs, labels, choices and descriptions, a search, and a model-roles editor (default, smol, slow, plan, tiny, task, advisor and your own roles). Changes are written through
omp config, so omp validates them. Open it from Settings → New agents, a host card's ⋯ menu, orCtrl+8. - omp and herdr stay up to date. Every host checks for new omp and herdr releases every 6 hours and installs them (
omp update, plainherdr update; never a live server handoff, so running agents keep running). The host card shows both versions, available updates and notes, with Check now / Update now and a switch to turn it off per host. - Host groups and Auto dispatch. Give hosts a group in the host editor, then pick Auto · in Dispatch: each task goes to the least busy host of the group (running agents, tasks on their way, CPU and memory) that has the repository, matched by its
originURL. Every task card says where it went and why. - Images in Dispatch. Paste, drop or attach images in Dispatch; they go to the agent with its first message, and image-only tasks work too. Pasting screenshots now also works on Linux in the session composer.
Changed
- Done agents close their pane. Marking an agent done closes its herdr pane (and its worktree workspace when nothing else runs there) after the Undo window. The card stays in Done with its transcript; Resume, opening its terminal, or simply sending it a message reopens it with
omp --resumein its worktree, and every open view follows it. Settings → New agents → Close panes of done agents turns this off. - Deleted sessions disappear. When omp's cleanup (or you) deletes an agent's session file, the agent disappears from the board, the inbox, notifications, Dispatch and its drafts.
- New worktrees fork from
origin/main. Dispatch, New worktree and Fan out fetch the default branch first and fork from the remote one instead of a localmainthat may be far behind. The new branch does not trackmain, so its first push publishes it under its own name. - Every running shell is visible. The Terminal view lists every pane on the host, shells and agents, grouped by workspace and tab, with the program running in it; the sidebar shows shells under their workspace and the palette finds them. Opening one attaches to the existing pane instead of starting a new shell.
- Better Dispatch names. omp's tiny model sometimes answered a long task as if it had to do it ("I need to inspect the repository" became
need-inspect-repository). It now gets the task as text to label, agent-like answers are rejected, and the fallback name comes from the task's lead sentence (release-0-5-0-fixes).
Fixed
- Local hosts on Windows come online. The host daemon listened on a different pipe name than the one the app connected to, so a Local host on Windows never got past "Starting tf-hostd". Both now derive the pipe from the same home.
Faster
- Much lighter on the GPU when nothing happens. In the default Calm motion the background no longer drifts, status animations play a few times and then stop, nothing animates while the window is in the background, and large translucent surfaces no longer use a live blur. On an idle board in Chromium the GPU process went from 97 % to 3 % CPU and the compositor layers from 75 to 17 (idle terminal: 37 → 1.4 frames per second). These were the constant GPU load reported on Windows laptops; it is not yet measured on real WebView2 hardware. Settings → Motion → Lively brings the drifting background back.
- Smooth at 125 % / 150 % scaling on Linux. The same changes cut WebKitGTK's web process at 2× scale from 584 % to 114 % CPU on an idle board (session 530 % → 90 %, terminal 532 % → 95 %). If your GPU driver still stutters,
WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1is an opt-in described indocs/build.md. - The Windows window is opaque (its transparency had no effect but cost every frame), terminals release their WebGL context when they close, and idle cards stop sampling empty sparklines and ticking clocks.
Updating: the host daemon (
tf-hostd) changed. The first device that updates restarts it once; your agents keep running and your other device reconnects a moment later. Host groups, Auto dispatch, Automations, omp settings and tool updates need both the app and the host on 0.5.0.
