To recap: a good and relatively straightforward way to give Svelte's visual identity a facelift is to update our typography. We use Overpass everywhere, and I don't know about you but it feels very tired to me. (Overpass was designed for UI elements, based on Highway Gothic which was designed for road signage — neither typeface was really intended for body copy, though it's honestly served us pretty well.) The sites that feel freshest to me are the ones that dare to challenge the stifling sans serif monoculture — Daylight and Fly spring to mind.

It'll take a bit of tweaking to dial everything in, but I think this is a promising pairing — a condensed sans (Oswald) for headings and controls, and a tasteful serif (Cardo) for body text.

I really like what this does for our prose. It feels so much more conversational, to me. And I'm pleasantly surprised by how well Cardo accommodates Fira Mono.

closing in favour of #122 — Yantramanav isn't quite as fun as Oswald but it's a lot more flexible
