Fly on the Wall 2.0.4 — a smarter backfill button

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 10 Aug 15:23

Fly on the Wall 2.0.4 — a smarter backfill button

Small quality-of-life release. The Settings → MCP card's extraction button now tells
you exactly what it will do: it reads "Backfill N meetings not indexed" — the live
count of meetings that don't have their decisions, action items, and key figures
extracted yet — and turns into a disabled "All meetings indexed" when there's
nothing left to process. No more guessing whether pressing it does anything.

Which file do I download?

Your computer Download
Windows 10/11 (64-bit) Fly.on.the.Wall_2.0.4_x64-setup-windows-x64.exe
Mac — Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4, any Mac from 2021 on) Fly.on.the.Wall_2.0.4_aarch64-macos-apple-silicon.dmg
Mac — Intel ("Processor" line in About This Mac) Fly.on.the.Wall_2.0.4_x64-macos-intel.dmg
Linux (most distributions) Fly.on.the.Wall_2.0.4_amd64-linux-x64.AppImage
Linux — Debian/Ubuntu (prefer apt?) Fly.on.the.Wall_2.0.4_amd64-linux-x64.deb

Not sure which Mac you have? Apple menu → About This Mac: a "Chip" line saying
Apple M-something means Apple Silicon; a "Processor" line saying Intel means Intel.

macOS downloads are signed and notarized with an Apple Developer ID — they open
normally. Windows shows a one-time SmartScreen notice (the installer isn't
paid-certificate-signed yet): click More info → Run anyway. Existing installs on
every platform pick this release up automatically through the built-in updater.

What's new

  • Backfill button shows its work (#53): "Backfill N meetings not indexed" with a
live count, refreshed after each run; disabled as "All meetings indexed" when done.
New meetings are still extracted automatically after every transcription — the
button only covers the historical backlog.

Fly on the Wall 2.0.3 — the MCP server goes stateless

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 09 Aug 20:18

Fly on the Wall 2.0.3 — the MCP server goes stateless

The bundled MCP server (flyonthewall-mcp) now speaks the stateless 2026-07-28
Model Context Protocol specification
— the new industry-standard revision that
removes the session handshake in favor of self-describing requests — while still
answering the legacy handshake, so every MCP client keeps working with zero
configuration change
. "Chat with your notes" from Claude Desktop and friends is
unchanged to set up, and modern clients get snappier: tool lists are now cacheable,
sparing a round-trip per conversation.

What's new

MCP server: stateless 2026-07-28 spec, dual-era (#52)

  • Implements the new stateless protocol core: per-request metadata, the
    server/discover method, self-describing results, and proper protocol-version
negotiation — the server was already stateless internally, so this is a pure
protocol upgrade with no behavior change to your data.
  • Backwards compatible by design: older MCP clients that still open with the
legacy initialize handshake get byte-identical responses to before. Nothing to
    reconfigure on either side.
  • Tool lists and server discovery are now marked cacheable (1 hour) for modern
clients — fewer round-trips at the start of every conversation.
  • Fixed the MCP smoke script ignoring its data-directory argument.

As always: the MCP server is local stdio only — your notes, transcripts, and
extracted items never leave your machine.
