The first OpenTracker fork release for the original Polyend Tracker, built on upstream 2.2.3. Stock projects still load and play; fork data lives in side files that stock firmware ignores.

Install:

  1. Back up your SD card.
  2. Copy PolyendTrackerOTv223.ptf to /Firmware. Keep the name: the bootloader only accepts 24-character names.
  3. Go to Config > Firmware update and select it.
  4. Keep the stock PolyendTracker_1.9.2.ptf in /Firmware so you can go back.

Highlights

  • DX7 FM synth: a 6-operator engine as an instrument, with .syx bank loading.
  • Live resampling: record the master, a track, Line in or USB onto the bar while playing.
  • Performance mode:
    • 16 scenes on an A/B crossfader;
    • fader ranges that stage a fade column by column;
    • scene bank files you can export and import;
    • master DJ filter and tape stop;
    • MIDI CC columns for external synths.
  • Song mode: repeat counts, a Performance scene per slot, and fader ramps between scenes.
  • Multisample instruments from SFZ, and slices to pattern.
  • USB audio (Linux, Windows):
    • the Tracker is a USB sound card;
    • play the computer through it or sample it;
    • record the Tracker's master on the computer.
    • macOS isn't supported yet.
  • MIDI:
    • a per-synth CC chart and LFO for MIDI instruments;
    • shipped presets, attached as MidiPresets.zip (copy the MidiPresets folder to the card);
    • note names, piano pads and chord entry.
