Closing as I no longer think this PR is correct:

• You should still see the deprecated usage in your component, but it should be less visible (see Copied deprecation error handler from core #91)

• We should not enforce error levels (see Do not override error reporting configuration #90)

• If we want to ignore these errors, we should change the phpunit config instead:

There never has been plans to revert it, only to improve the experience. Afaik, they are still working on that.
