Functionnal tests using session

I know it had been discussed a lot, but I thought the problem had been fixed.

I am writing functional tests that requires the session to stays the same between client requests. What is the recommended way to do so ?

I investigated into this case and found some things.

First of all I should say that my tests worked well until I updated symfony2. So I looked for the commit that breaks my tests.

When I reverted this patch 1284681 everything worked as expected.

Should I push a revert or should we investigate more on what exactly happens ?

I am the only one to get this weird behavior ? I would like to move fast on this issue as long as it is preventing me from updating symfony.

Hi !

I updated from 2.0.1 to 2.0.4 and some functional tests are broken... Some form submission redirects now to login_form whereas it should redirects to homepage. I encountered such issues with pre-final version but it seemed to be corrected from final version.

Don't know what affected client test behaviour...

Seems to me that there is an issue when the client handles the cookies (that contains the session ID). In some cases it is not remembered well.

Symfony\Component\BrowserKit\Cookie => i moved it back to 2.0.1 version and things goes on a better way...

I don't think the best way to 'fix' our functional tests is to downgrade Symfony. Could anyone do something about this one?

@r1pp3rj4ck I do agree with you. The matter is I don't really understand the impact of the patch. I suppose there is some security issue behind that...

Cookie path management has been fixed/enhanced, and so on for Test Cookie (BrowserKit). Maybe it was not a good idea just to apply the same patch to Test Cookie..
