Synchain Bridge v1.6.0

New: AAX for Pro Tools on Windows (Beta). Synchain Bridge now also ships as an AAX Native plug-in. It is PACE-signed, so it loads in regular (retail) Pro Tools on Windows x64. It streams your Pro Tools audio to the Synchain web app, the same way the VST3 / AU versions do.

What's in this release

  • New: AAX (Windows x64, Beta).
    • Insert it on a mono or stereo track, aux or master in Pro Tools.
    • It is not offered as AudioSuite and has no multi-mono variant.
    • During an offline bounce, Track Commit or Freeze, the audio passes through untouched and nothing is streamed. Streaming resumes when the render ends.
  • Fix (Windows, Pro Tools): the plug-in window is no longer cut off when Windows display scaling is not 100% (for example 175%).
  • UI:
    • The interface-scale dropdown now opens a list styled like the rest of the panel. Engines without support for the new styling fall back to the native list.
    • The header badge now reads "DAW · AUDIO BRIDGE".
    • The footer now reads "Synchain Bridge".
  • No protocol change. Works with the current Synchain web app; no migration needed. VST3 / AU behaviour is unchanged.
  • macOS AAX is built but not released yet; it will follow after testing on real hardware.

Install the AAX (Pro Tools, Windows)

  1. Quit Pro Tools.
  2. If an older Synchain Bridge.aaxplugin folder is in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins\, delete it first. Copying over it merges the two and leaves old files behind.
  3. Copy the new Synchain Bridge.aaxplugin folder into that directory. This may need administrator rights.
  4. Restart Pro Tools and insert Synchain Bridge. With "organize plug-ins by category" turned on, it is under Other.

Known limitations (Pro Tools, Beta)

  • If Pro Tools uses the computer's built-in sound card, it takes the device exclusively. A browser on the same computer may then be unable to play sound. Streaming to the room is not affected and other participants still hear you. To listen locally in the browser, use a separate audio interface, or set the browser's output to another device.
  • If you move the plug-in window to a monitor with a different scaling, close and reopen the window.
  • Only the first instance is reachable on the default port 9420. Further instances take 9421–9429; enter that port in the web app.

To verify: run sha256sum -c SynchainBridge-*.zip.sha256 (on macOS: shasum -a 256 -c …).

Signing:

  • The VST3 / AU builds are still not code-signed. On Windows, click "More info → Run anyway" if SmartScreen asks. On macOS, run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine on the installed plug-in.
  • The AAX build is PACE-signed, as Pro Tools requires, with a SHA-256 Authenticode signature and an RFC 3161 timestamp. The Authenticode certificate is self-signed, so "Properties → Digital Signatures" shows an untrusted publisher. This is expected and does not affect loading in Pro Tools.

Synchain Bridge v1.6.0（中文）

新增：Windows 版 Pro Tools 可用的 AAX（Beta）。 Synchain Bridge 现在也提供 AAX Native 插件。它经过 PACE 签名，Windows x64 上的零售版 Pro Tools 可以直接加载，推流方式和 VST3 / AU 版一样，把 Pro Tools 的声音推到 Synchain 网页端。

本版内容

  • 新增：AAX（Windows x64，Beta）。
    • 可以插在 Pro Tools 的单声道或立体声轨、Aux 或 Master 上。
    • 不提供 AudioSuite，也没有 multi-mono 形态。
    • 离线 bounce、Track Commit 或 Freeze 期间，音频原样直通、不推流，渲染结束后恢复推流。
  • 修复（Windows，Pro Tools）： Windows 显示缩放不是 100%（例如 175%）时，插件窗口不再被裁切。
  • 界面：
    • 「界面缩放」下拉展开后的列表改为和面板一致的样式；不支持新样式的环境回退为原生列表。
    • 顶部徽标改为「DAW · AUDIO BRIDGE」。
    • 页脚改为「Synchain Bridge」。
  • 无协议变更：与当前 Synchain 网页端兼容，无需迁移；VST3 / AU 的行为不变。
  • macOS 版 AAX 已能构建，但这次不发布，真机实测后再发。

安装 AAX（Pro Tools，Windows）

  1. 退出 Pro Tools。
  2. 如果 C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins\ 里已有旧的 Synchain Bridge.aaxplugin 文件夹，先把它删掉。直接覆盖会把新旧文件合并，留下旧版本的文件。
  3. 把新的 Synchain Bridge.aaxplugin 文件夹复制到这个目录，可能需要管理员权限。
  4. 重启 Pro Tools，插入 Synchain Bridge。如果插件菜单按类别组织，它在 Other 下。

已知限制（Pro Tools，Beta）

  • Pro Tools 使用电脑自带声卡时会独占这个设备，同一台电脑上的浏览器可能放不出声音。这不影响向房间推流，其他参与者照常能听到。如果要在本机浏览器里监听，建议改用独立声卡，或者把浏览器的输出设备改成另一个。
  • 把插件窗口拖到缩放比例不同的另一块显示器上时，关掉窗口再打开即可恢复正常。
  • 默认端口 9420 只能连上第一个实例，后面的实例依次用 9421–9429，需要在网页端填入对应端口。

下载与校验

文件和 SHA-256 见上表。校验命令：sha256sum -c SynchainBridge-*.zip.sha256（macOS 用 shasum -a 256 -c …）。

签名：

  • VST3 / AU 仍未做代码签名：Windows 上 SmartScreen 拦截时点「更多信息 → 仍要运行」；macOS 上对已安装的插件执行 xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine。
  • AAX 按 Pro Tools 的要求做了 PACE 签名，Windows 签名为 SHA-256 并带 RFC 3161 时间戳。签名证书是自签名的，所以在「属性 → 数字签名」里会显示不受信任的签名者。这是预期现象，不影响 Pro Tools 加载。

Synchain Bridge v1.5.3

Windows: the plug-in window no longer flashes white when it opens. Opening the editor used to go
white → background → white → ready. 1.5.3 keeps the WebView hidden until the page has actually painted
its first frame, paints WebView2's own default background in the theme colour, and waits one more
compositor beat before revealing it. macOS was not affected and behaves the same as 1.5.0.

What's in this release

  • Fix (Windows): reveal the editor only after the first real paint (SL-386, SL-421, SL-433, SL-436).
  • Hardening: sendPcmPacket no longer calls memcpy for an empty payload.
  • Internal: PCM frame header encoding consolidated in one place with golden tests; Windows dependencies
    pinned through a vcpkg manifest. No behaviour change.
  • No protocol change — works with the current Synchain web app; no migration needed. On both platforms, remove
    the old bundle before putting the new one in place — copying over it merges and leaves files from the old version
    behind. Windows: delete the old Synchain Bridge.vst3 folder, then copy the new one. macOS: delete the old .vst3 /
    .component bundles, then ditto the new ones in. See INSTALL.txt.
  • 1.5.1 and 1.5.2 were internal test builds and were never released.

Synchain Bridge v1.5.3（中文）

Windows：插件窗口打开时不再闪白。 过去打开编辑器会经历「白 → 背景色 → 白 → 正常」。1.5.3 在页面真正画出第一帧
之前一直遮住 WebView，把 WebView2 自身的默认底色改为主题色，并多等一拍合成再揭开。macOS 不受影响，行为与 1.5.0 相同。

本版内容

  • 修复（Windows）：只在首次真实绘制之后才显示编辑器（SL-386、SL-421、SL-433、SL-436）。
  • 加固：sendPcmPacket 对空 payload 不再调用 memcpy。
  • 内部：PCM 帧头编码收敛到一处并加 golden 测试；Windows 依赖改由 vcpkg manifest 钉版本。行为零变化。
  • 无协议变更：与当前 Synchain 网页端兼容，无需任何迁移。两个平台都建议先删除旧的 bundle 再放入新的
    （直接覆盖是合并，会留下旧版本的文件）：Windows 删除旧的 Synchain Bridge.vst3 文件夹后再复制；macOS 删除旧的
