OpenScience 2.0.131 makes connected project folders usable from the moment you create a project, adds a central place to manage workspace access, and fixes R setup on Windows.

Your project files, available immediately

Folders added during project creation now appear in Files before you send the first message. Browse, preview, edit, save, rename, and move files to recoverable Trash without starting a conversation. Existing project files stay where they are; opening Files does not create a hidden session.

Manage folders in Customize → Workspaces

Choose a project to connect or disconnect folders, switch between Read only and Read & write, and set its default working folder. Changes update Files, open previews, and the composer. Unsaved edits survive access changes, and disconnecting a folder leaves its contents in place.

Project-related work defaults to the connected working folder, including an empty folder intended for new work. Explicit location requests and conversation-specific choices are respected. Temporary scratch remains available for unrelated tasks and disposable intermediate files.

The folder picker also keeps Settings open and handles focus correctly when dialogs are stacked.

R setup works on Windows

The managed R starter now launches with its own interpreter, DLL paths, and package environment, preventing conflicts with personal R libraries or other installations such as Anaconda. Setup allows time for Windows to scan newly installed libraries. If a repair still fails, Compute shows the interpreter's error instead of a generic internal-server error. Python starters use the same corrected launch environment.

Verification

Validated with 6,195 passing local tests, 104 passing browser tests, and backend and native checks on Linux, macOS, and Windows. Release packages additionally pass the packaged browser, installation, scientific capability, signing, and updater gates before publication.

Changes: workspace folders #706 · Windows R setup #705

The Windows desktop installer is unsigned while Microsoft Artifact Signing setup is incomplete.
