v1.2.0

STV 1.2.0

Adds an opt-in Remember my current view checkbox. It restores starting objects or the overview page, expanded graph and node positions, ordered detail cards, and pan/zoom after reloads and browser restarts. Saved views remain independent by project, page and embedded view. Disabling the checkbox clears that view's saved state without changing the live display.

Saved state stays in the browser profile. Current graph validation, capacity limits, safe fallback and visible storage errors protect existing offline/static operation. No new runtime dependency or configuration migration is required; remembering defaults to off.

Validation: 244 main automated tests passed (196 Python / 48 JavaScript), plus six CR019 browser supplements, fresh Python 3.10 consumer checks, 30,000-Need/90,000-link capacity checks and maximum-size/hover SVG checks. The owner confirmed native save/cancel and browser zoom behavior. Qualification scope is Windows 11 / Firefox 159.0 over file and HTTP.

Qualification evidence

Other operating systems/browsers, mobile/touch optimization, occurrence mode and universal SVG-editor support remain outside qualification. Direct-file persistence depends on browser storage support. No cross-device/account synchronization is provided.

v1.1.0

STV 1.1.0 adds controls for exploring and sharing Sphinx-Needs traceability views.

  • Collapse all nodes clears expanded relationships while keeping the currently selected starting objects and open detail cards.
  • Save as SVG exports the visible graph and details, including a visible tooltip. The browser manages the download location; enable its save-location prompt to choose a folder.
  • Tooltip and side-card text now default to 70% size, with independent traceability_view_tooltip_font_scale and traceability_view_details_font_scale settings.
  • Documentation pages with Needs receive Collapse all and Expand all controls for their metadata attributes.
  • SVG export retains visible graph nodes whose positioned parent lies outside the crop.
  • PyPI now includes a public installation and integration description.

The release workflow verifies the qualified distributions against the Git tag, publishes them to PyPI through Trusted Publishing, and deploys the matching documentation to GitHub Pages after successful PyPI publication.

Install or upgrade with python -m pip install --upgrade sphinx-traceability-view==1.1.0.

The package requires Python 3.10 or later and pins Sphinx 8.1.3 and Sphinx-Needs 8.2.0. Release-browser qualification uses Windows 11 and Firefox 158.0.1 on file and HTTP transports. Other OS/browser combinations and mobile/touch behavior remain outside that formal qualification. SVG export targets standalone browser viewing; universal vector-editor compatibility is not promised. Occurrence mode remains deferred.

Validation: 229 automated cases passed (187 Python and 42 JavaScript), plus fresh offline Python 3.10 installation and clean Sphinx usage. The 30,000-Need/90,000-link capacity fixture was identity-verified and browser measurements repeated. Four 200-node/ten-card SVG scenarios and extended reset, typography, snapshot and page-control procedures passed; native Save As, cancellation and browser zoom checks were owner-observed. Qualification evidence. Earlier failed candidates and diagnostic attempts are retained rather than overwritten. Published 1.0.0 artifacts remain unchanged.

v1.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@sysblacksmith sysblacksmith released this 24 Oct 20:51

v1.0.0

First official release of Sphinx Traceability View.

  • Offline interactive Sphinx-Needs traceability views with shared graph identity,
multiple starting nodes, project paging and interactive seed selection.
  • Stable relationship navigation, classified test/evidence rows and a visible viewport boundary.
  • Persistent per-view details with configurable capacity, folded metadata and original-object navigation.
  • Hardened local detail resources, compact Windows asset paths, complete bundled notices,
bounded source archives and clean documentation publication.

Install the attached wheel with Python 3.10 or newer. Maintainer documentation/test
tooling requires Python 3.11 or newer. Sphinx 8.1.3 and sphinx-needs 8.2.0 are pinned.
Preserve bundled third-party notices when redistributing generated HTML.

Validation: 122 Python and 36 JavaScript cases passed,
including Firefox file/HTTP and fresh 30,000-Need/90,000-edge capacity checks.
The exact release wheel also passed an isolated Python 3.10 install/Sphinx build.
Qualification evidence.
Archive hashes are in the attached SHA256SUMS.txt.

Known scope: occurrence mode, touch and additional platforms/browsers remain deferred;
numeric latency/memory budgets are unagreed. Hosted CI/provenance, branch protection
and release-runner improvements are owner-accepted follow-up work for v1.0.0.
Cryptographic attestation is not included.
