Browser Recall v1.0.1
Desktop installers, browser extensions, and signed updates from commit 64094bd.
- Windows x64: run the setup executable. The installer checks Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime and installs it when needed.
- macOS Apple Silicon: use the macos-arm64 disk image.
- macOS Intel: use the macos-x64 disk image.
- macOS: open the disk image and drag Browser Recall.app into Applications. The app uses ad-hoc signing and is not notarized. macOS may require approval in Privacy & Security. Windows builds are unsigned and may show a SmartScreen warning.
- Chrome/Chromium: extract the extension-chrome ZIP, enable Developer mode in chrome://extensions, and use Load unpacked to select the extracted folder.
- Firefox: extract the extension-firefox ZIP, open about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox, and use Load Temporary Add-on to select manifest.json.
Manual upgrades: quit Browser Recall completely; closing the window only hides it. On macOS, open the new disk image, drag Browser Recall.app into Applications, choose Replace, eject the disk image, and reopen Browser Recall from Applications. On Windows, run the new setup executable. Existing collections, preferences, and browser pairing are preserved. Older installations without self-update need this manual upgrade once.
Browser Recall checks for updates automatically; click Update and restart to install. Preferences remain in the operating system's app-data folder; choose the collection's data folder during setup. Browser extensions are installed separately.
SHA256SUMS contains SHA-256 checksums for the installers, extension archives, and update packages.
