DeskStats 1.0.19 — Restore app after silent update
Corrected release packaging so silent updates honor /UPDATEAPP=1 and relaunch DeskStats. Production builds now require clean source. Added installer logs to downloaded-update folders. Includes the native tray tooltip fix. Verified on Windows: silent installation exited 0, started DeskStats with --restarted, loaded all four existing widgets and preserved their saved state. Automated tooltip, layout, power and update checks passed.
DeskStats 1.0.18 — Fix stuck tray tooltip
Fixed the stray DeskStats label appearing at the primary screen's top-left without clicking. Upgraded Hardcodet.NotifyIcon.Wpf to 2.0.1 to use the native Windows hover tooltip. Tooltip callback and layout persistence checks passed. Relaunch the EXE edition with automatic updates enabled to download this version, then choose Install update and restart DeskStats. Your widget layout is preserved.
DeskStats 1.0.17 — Independent hardware power widget
Hardware Power is now an independent hardware widget. Add it using tray > Add widget > Hardware > Hardware power. Fresh default layouts include it. AMD driver power queries distinguish supported total board power from ASIC/chip power. Unsupported board power stays unavailable; readings are never inflated or added into a guessed total. Device names and sample timestamps are shown. CPU package selection no longer falls back to an arbitrary core sensor. QA passed for measurement scopes, invalid/zero/missing readings, state persistence and Large sizing. Live RX 6600 testing exposed ASIC power only through ADL PMLog; gaming-load comparison remains unverified.

DeskStats 1.0.16 — Visible update progress
Updates now show checking, download progress and verification. The install prompt appears in front with a taskbar entry and explicitly says 'Install update and restart DeskStats'. Widgets and positions are preserved. UI and persistence checks passed.
DeskStats 1.0.15 — Power readings and clearer labels
Added Hardware Power readings for CPU, GPU and supported PSU telemetry. Sensor readings remain separate; no estimated whole-PC total. Clarified CPU Details, GPU Details, Memory (RAM), Process Memory, Hardware Temperatures and Fan Speeds.
Power and layout checks passed; Regular and Large UI inspected. Physical PSU support depends on hardware and has not been tested on a telemetry-enabled PSU.

macmonhelper (MIT). - Core voltage and GPU voltage, read from the SoC's DVFS tables at the live frequency.
- GPU memory clock (the chip's rated LPDDR speed) and live memory power.
- Fanless Macs such as the MacBook Air show "No fan" instead of a fake 0 RPM.
- Now Playing, Weather, World Clock, Trash, Network and Storage widgets.
- Floating widgets or a docked sidebar, themes, layouts, and launch at login.

DeskStats 1.0.14
Changelog
1.0.14 — 2026-10-23
Added
- Startup update checks and verified installer downloads for the EXE edition.
- An Updates section in app settings and a tray action to check manually.
- A versioned update manifest and a script to publish its URL and SHA-256.
- Fresh-install detection: reinstalling restores the hardware defaults and archives the previous layout; upgrading keeps the customized layout.
Fixes included since 1.0.5
- Floating widget dragging through scroll containers, while preserving interactive controls.
- Docking moves overlapping floating widgets clear of the sidebar.
- Tray exit saves widget state before WPF closes windows.
- Persisted widget visibility, removals, monitor anchors, positions and Regular/Large size.
- Preserved monitor anchors through automatic display relocation.
- Intentionally empty layouts remain empty on restart.
- A tray action restores all hardware widgets without duplicating existing instances.
- Per-widget Regular/Large sizing; Large increases content scale by 35% and expands vertically without an internal scrollbar.
Packaging and validation
- Includes the MSIX packaging source and assets used for the earlier Store candidate. The October 23 Store review rejected its driver-install flow and allowElevation request; this release does not claim Store approval.
- EXE setup installs the bundled official PawnIO dependency when missing.
- Build and WPF checks cover fresh/reinstall/upgrade state, docking, placement, size persistence and update manifest validation. Settings UI was rendered and inspected.
- Physical monitor timeout and the full download/UAC/install/relaunch update cycle still require live testing. Installer and app remain unsigned.
The update service consumes published installers and release metadata; pushing source changes alone does not distribute an update. Installation requests confirmation and Windows administrator approval when required.

Important installation notes

- Installation and hardware monitoring require administrator permission.
- The installer bundles PawnIO, a shared hardware-sensor driver, and installs it if absent. Uninstalling DeskStats does not remove that shared driver.
