Gryphon 0.3.3
Five more settings on the Graphics screen.
What's new
- Grass distance and Grass fade. Even at its highest, the game's Ground Clutter slider only draws grass out to 200, and the grass starts fading at 70. Now you can push both further: 500 and 370 fill in hillsides well into the distance.
- Weather. Sets how heavy rain and snow look, from 0 to 3. The game uses 2.
- HDR. Turns on HDR for OLED and mini-LED screens that have it. Turn HDR on for the screen in your computer's display settings first.
- HDR highlights. Sets how bright the brightest spots get with HDR on. The game uses 200, twice as bright as without HDR. Try 130 if it looks harsh.
As before, close the game before you save. The changes take effect next time it starts, and each one has a Put back button.
Nothing else has changed. Your addons, settings and theme stay as they are.
How to update
- On 0.2.0 or later: click App updates at the bottom of the sidebar, then click again to install.
- On 0.1.0: download this version and install it over the old one. Your addons and settings stay as they are.
Which file to get
- Mac:
Gryphon_0.3.3_mac-universal.dmg. It runs on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs, and it's signed and notarized, so it opens like any other app. - Windows:
Gryphon_0.3.3_x64-setup.exe. It isn't signed yet, so Windows will show a blue "Windows protected your PC" box. Click More info, then Run anyway. - Linux:
Gryphon_0.3.3_amd64.AppImageruns on most distros. Make it executable first (chmod +x). On Debian or Ubuntu you can install the.debinstead.
The other files (latest.json, the .app.tar.gz and the .sig files) are for Gryphon's own update button. You don't need to download them.
Gryphon 0.3.2
A new screen for the graphics settings the game's own menu doesn't go far enough on.
What's new
- Graphics. It's under Game in the sidebar, and covers draw distance, grass and clutter, small objects, detail distance and sharpening. Each one says what it does, what range it takes and what it costs. Change the numbers, click Save changes, and they take effect next time you start the game.
- Close the game first. WoW Forever saves its own settings when it closes, over the top of anything changed while it's open. So Gryphon only saves while it's closed, and the screen tells you when it's open.
- Put back. Before each save, Gryphon copies
Config.wtfto its backups. Any setting it has changed gets a Put back button that returns it to the game's own value.
Moving the game's own View Distance or Ground Clutter sliders sets those two again, so change them in Gryphon after the sliders.
Nothing else has changed. Your addons, settings and theme stay as they are.

Gryphon_0.3.2_mac-universal.dmg. It runs on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs, and it's signed and notarized, so it opens like any other app. - Windows:

Gryphon_0.3.2_amd64.AppImageruns on most distros. Make it executable first (chmod +x). On Debian or Ubuntu you can install the.debinstead.

Gryphon 0.3.1
A small release: the right icon on Windows, installers that match the app, and a new pick.
What's new
- The red G on Windows. The 0.3.0 Windows app still showed the old yellow G. Now it shows the new one. If a shortcut keeps the old picture, Windows is still showing the one it saved. It catches up after a restart.
- Installers that match. The Windows installer has a red sidebar with the G, and its pages are vellum instead of white. On Mac, the disk image opens on a vellum window with an arrow from Gryphon to Applications.
- Tome in Picks. Tome is my own addon. It puts one row of tabs on the windows you open most (Character, Spellbook, Talents, Guild, Collections and Group Finder), so each one is a click from the others.
Nothing else has changed. Your addons, settings and theme stay as they are.

Gryphon 0.3.0
Gryphon has its own look now: a page from a scribe's book.
What's new
- New colours. The light theme is vellum and ink. The dark theme is a warm, candlelit brown. Red marks the main button and the page you're on, and blue marks a new version.
- A new icon. The pixel G is now red on vellum, like an initial in a manuscript.
- Initials in the sidebar. Each list opens with a blackletter letter on its own colour: a red P for Picks, a blue G for GitHub and a gold F for Folders. The wordmark's g gets a red box to match.
- Lighter buttons. The main action is still a solid red block. Every other button is now an underlined word that turns red when you point at it.
- Page headings. The small label above each title is red, and a double rule sits under each heading.
Nothing else has changed. Your addons, settings and theme stay as they are.

Gryphon 0.2.1
Gryphon gets a cleaner look, and its code is now open source.
What's new
- A tidier layout. Gryphon now has the same spacing and feel as Toolbox. There are small pixel icons in the sidebar, a clearer heading at the top of each page, and calmer addon rows that light up when you point at them.
- Buttons beside the name. On an addon's page, Update, Remove and Open on GitHub now sit next to its name instead of under it.
- Open source. Gryphon's code is public under the GPL, version 3 or later. It's on GitHub, with a mirror on GitLab.

Gryphon 0.2.0
Gryphon can now update itself, and every pick has its own page.
What's new
- App updates. There's a new row at the bottom of the sidebar, under Dark mode. Click it to check for a newer Gryphon, click again to install it, and once more to reopen. It only checks when you click. After this one, you won't need to download Gryphon by hand again.
- A page for each pick. Click an addon's name to read what it does, then install, update or remove it from there. Esc takes you back to the list.
- Shorter Settings. The longer explanations moved behind the ? next to each heading.
- A proper Mac icon, the same size and shape as the other apps in your Dock.
