Tome 0.2.3

@tasyusef tasyusef released this 06 Nov 01:00

The tabs are back along the top, in one row that stays put.

  • One row on top. The left tabs are gone. Whichever tab you pick opens right under the row at its usual size, so the tabs never move under your mouse.
  • Icons only. Each tab shows its icon, and hovering it shows the name. That keeps the row the same on every window. On a narrow window like Bags, the end of the row hangs past its right edge.
  • The gear is at the end of the row. Click it for settings, or drag it to move everything.

Your saved spot carries over, so your windows stay where you put them.

If you use Gryphon, it'll offer the update. Or unzip this into World of Warcraft/_forever_/Interface/AddOns over the old one.

@tasyusef tasyusef released this 05 Nov 15:05

The tabs move to the left side and stay put, and every window opens right beside them.

  • Tabs that stay put. Big tabs run down the left. Whichever one you pick opens next to them at its usual size, so only the window's far edges move. They no longer clash with the Professions window's own tabs on the right.
  • Drag to move. Drag any window by an empty spot, or drag the gear under the tabs, and everything opens there from then on. Click the gear to lock it or reset it. Edit Mode isn't needed any more.
  • Bags in combat. The backpack and bag buttons on your action bar now open the Bags tab mid-fight too, not just B.
  • Full screen map still keeps the game's own spot, without tabs. Shrink it and it goes back beside them.

Tome starts off where the game normally opens its windows, top left. If you'd moved it in Edit Mode before, drag it back to where you like it.

If you use Gryphon, it'll offer the update. Or unzip this into World of Warcraft/_forever_/Interface/AddOns over the old one.

Everything on the menu bar is a tab now, and you can move where Tome opens.

  • More tabs. Professions, Legacy, Quest Log, Housing and the Adventure Guide join the others, in the same order as the menu bar. Bags is at the end. The shop, the game menu and Help stay on the menu bar, since Tome can't put tabs on them.
  • Bigger icons. The tab icons are bigger and easier to hit. On a narrow window like the character sheet the tabs drop their names, shrink a little if they still don't fit, and then run on past the window's edge.
  • Move it in Edit Mode. Open Edit Mode and drag the Tome box to wherever you want your windows to open. Click it to switch the tabs to the side, or to put it back in the corner. The spot saves as soon as you let go.
  • Full screen map. A full screen world map stays where the game puts it, without tabs. Shrink it back down and it joins the others.

If you use Gryphon, it'll offer the update. Or unzip this into World of Warcraft/_forever_/Interface/AddOns over the old one. Your settings stay as they are.

Tome 0.2.0

@tasyusef tasyusef released this 05 Nov 01:04

Tome now feels like one window that lives where your bags do.

  • Everything opens bottom right. Character, Spellbook, Talents, Guild, Collections, Group Finder and Bags all open in the corner where the game puts your bags, tabs and all.
  • One at a time. Opening one closes the others, so it really is one window with tabs.
  • Bags is a real tab now. All your bags sit in one window with search, sort and your gold. B and the backpack button open it, B again closes it, and so does Escape. Vendors and the mailbox still open it for you.

A few things work a little differently in a fight, because the game won't let addons move or close windows then:

  • A window you open mid-fight opens in its usual spot and moves to the corner once combat ends. If you opened more than one, the newest stays.
  • The backpack and bag buttons on your action bar show the game's own bags until the fight's over. B still opens the Bags tab.

If you use Gryphon, it'll offer the update. Or unzip this into World of Warcraft/_forever_/Interface/AddOns over the old one. Your settings stay as they are.

Fixes for tabs that opened nothing or ran off the window.

  • Locked tabs go grey. Talents stays locked until your first talent point and Group Finder until its level. Their tabs used to close the window you were on and then open nothing. Now a locked tab goes grey, says why when you hover it, and does nothing when you click it. The keybind won't reopen a locked tab either.
  • Tabs fit narrow windows. On the small Spellbook and other narrow windows, the top tabs show just their icons. Hover one for its name.
  • Side tabs sit beside Blizzard's. They used to start under Blizzard's own side tabs and run off the bottom of the Character window. Now they sit next to them, and shrink to fit a short window.

If you use Gryphon, it'll offer the update. Or unzip this into World of Warcraft/_forever_/Interface/AddOns over the old one. Your settings stay as they are.

The first version of Tome. It puts one set of tabs on your character, spellbook, talents, guild, collections and group finder windows, plus your bags, and it works in combat.

The easiest way to install it is with Gryphon: paste tasyusef/tome on its GitHub screen. Or unzip this into World of Warcraft/_forever_/Interface/AddOns. Type /tome in game for its settings.
