Added
- Added
cratesandcrates_pathsettings to generate Gentoo crate archives fromCargo.lockwithcargo vendor --locked --versioned-dirs. Cargo uses a temporary cache directory. - Add the
nodejs_omit_devpackage setting. When enabled, thenode_modulesarchive is built with the runtime dependencies only. The archive is only suitable for ebuilds that do not run a build step. - Follow the branch head for GitLab ebuilds that pin a commit, as is already done for GitHub. A project with no tags previously did not report a version and fell through to the directory listing. On
gitlab.com, GitLab responds to the directory listing request with a Cloudflare challenge. The commit is read from the path or from theshaquery of an/api/v4/projects/URL, the branch comes from thebranchsetting, and the project's default branch is used when no branch is configured. - Add the
handle_npm_prereleasetransformation function. npm writes the builds leading up to a release as3.9.3-12, which sanitising turned into3.9.3.12, a version above the 3.9.3 it precedes. The function writes the counter with a_preprefix instead. - Query every
SRC_URIlocation that refers to the package and select the highest version found. Generated vendor archives and signature or checksum files are skipped, the first remaining entry is always consulted, and a later entry is consulted when its URL includes both the package name and the ebuild version. Previously only the firstSRC_URIentry was consulted, and a mirror that was not updated upstream hid newer releases published at other locations. Locations are queried concurrently, and a location whose lookup fails is skipped when the lookup at another location succeeds.metadata.xml,HOMEPAGE, Repology, and directory listings remain fallbacks used only when noSRC_URIlocation reports a version.mirror+https://entries are now recognised as source URIs.
Changed
- Report connection errors and timeouts with concise messages. HTTP retry warnings and request tracebacks are shown only with
--debug. - Report hook failures without a traceback and include the hook path in debug messages.
Fixed
- Restored Manifest content after an automatic update failed without
--git. Digesting the new ebuild previously replaced distfile entries of the packaged version with entries for the new version. - Restored original ebuild content and reported failures when crate downloads, archive generation, or digest steps failed. Unsupported crate dependency errors identified rejected sources.
- Declared
tomlkitas a runtime dependency for crate archive generation. - Continued checking remaining packages after an update detection exception and returned exit code 1 after processing successful results.
- Returned exit code 1 when HTTP failures prevented upstream version detection and no fallback produced a result, instead of reporting a successful run.
- Resolved PECL package names from download URLs, fixing HTTP 404 responses for
pecl-http, whose upstream package name ispecl_http. - Expanded package variables such as
${PN}and${PV}inEGIT_REPO_URIandEGIT_BRANCH. Unresolved values are skipped instead of being sent to upstream services. - Fixed missed upstream updates, including DaVinci Resolve, by revalidating cached HTTP responses on every request instead of reusing stale versions indefinitely.
- Ignore GitHub tags that sort above the packaged version but whose commit predates the packaged tag, such as a
v1.0.0remaining on an abandoned branch next to thev0.9.xreleases. - Never propose a yanked PyPI release.
srsly3.0.0 was withdrawn but remains in the index, and it was offered over the current 2.5.3. - Let a package's
pattern_versionortransformation_functiondecide the version instead of the tag identifying the packaged version. The reference still filters out tags of another scheme, but the reference no longer overwrites a rewrite that was configured for exactly the packaged tag. - Stop appending an empty
/commit/toEGIT_REPO_URIwhen the ebuild does not pin a hash. The trailing segment was read as part of the repository path. The lookup then requested a project that does not exist. - Treat an ebuild that pins the commit of a GitHub release tag (for example the ROCm
therock-10.0monorepo tags) as tracking that tag line. Newer tags on the same line are proposed instead of bumping the revision to the branch head on every run. - Use the tag identifying the packaged version as the version reference when no other reference is known. Tags following another scheme (Go's
weekly.2012-03-27next togo1.27.1) are no longer reported as updates. The GitHub tag list is now read page by page until the packaged version's tag is found. - Preserve the explicit zero of PEP 440 pre-release counters. For example,
0.65b0now becomes0.65_beta0instead of0.65_beta. PyPI serves the files under the form with the zero. An ebuild named after the shorter form fails to fetch.
