Paste an existing script or import a text-based PDF, then keep writing in FreeScript.

  • Added a dedicated Paste a script text box with automatic screenplay formatting.
  • Pasting multiple lines into the editor creates editable screenplay elements and supports Undo.
  • Added offline PDF text extraction and import, including indented character cues and wrapped uppercase dialogue.
  • Existing manuscripts remain saved on your Mac; full-script imports open as separate drafts.
  • Added clear messages for scanned PDFs with no selectable text and password-protected PDFs.

Verified: document parser tests, desktop editing/undo/autosave, real PDF export-and-reimport, and AI companion regression tests.

Universal Mac app for Apple Silicon and Intel, macOS 13 or later. Signed with Developer ID; not notarized, as requested. Scanned PDF pages require text recognition before import. Review inferred formatting after import.
