abby v0.12.1
Highlights
abby v0.12.1 is a patch release that fixes the follow-ups left over from v0.12.0's safe-install work (#15).
- Env values are hidden in previews. The entry diffs printed by
--dry-runand the change summary show env values as***, and a changed value as*** (changed). The values written to the config are the real ones, and a change to an env value alone is still applied. - Files created under
sudobelong to you. If a config file doesn't exist yet, abby creates it, along with any directories it needs (such as~/.codex/), owned by whoever owns the nearest existing directory above it, not by root. - Codex files with mixed line endings are safe. A
config.tomlmixing CRLF and LF lines is still written back as CRLF. If that would change the value of a multi-line string, abby now refuses the edit and explains why, instead of silently changing the string. nanvalues no longer block edits. abby refused to edit any Codex config containing ananfloat; it now edits them normally.abby doctorchecks Codex's default timeout. It warns when a Codex entry has notool_timeout_sec(Codex then applies 60s) and the agent can run longer than that.- Docs. The
.mcp.jsonsamples now show the entry format abby actually writes.
Migration notes
None required. Rebuild agents with abby build to pin github.com/teabranch/abbyfile v0.12.1. A Codex config with mixed line endings that the new check refuses needs converting to a single line-ending style before abby will edit it.
