Homebrew upgrades no longer hang, and the panel fits the screen again after you unplug a monitor.

Install or update (Apple Silicon, macOS 14+): in the app, “Copy update command”, or

curl -fsSL https://transcriber.teconomix.net/install.sh | bash

Homebrew upgrades no longer hang

  • Up to 0.13, brew upgrade stopped in the terminal without a message, because the uninstaller of the installed version waited for an answer it could never receive. By then the app was already removed; your data is safe.

  • This one update still needs a manual step if you installed with Homebrew. If the upgrade is already stuck, press Ctrl-C. Then run once:

rm ~/.local/share/transcriber/uninstall.sh; brew upgrade --cask local-transcriber
  • If you use the folder watcher and an upgrade got stuck, run the curl installer once to set it up again. Installs via the curl command are not affected.

  • brew uninstall now removes the app and the watcher and keeps your data. To remove the data too, run bash ~/.local/share/transcriber/uninstall.sh first; it asks.

Panel

  • After unplugging a large monitor, the panel's content sat too low, far below the menu bar. The panel now takes its height from its content and the current screen.
