What changed

• Updated ride-video lengths to 10, 20, and 30 seconds plus Until stopped, with a visible Stop & Save action and automatic stopping for timed clips.
• Added Front and Rear camera choices and a single persisted microphone switch in the ride video options.
• Included runtime-gated Rear + selfie inset support on Android devices that expose a supported concurrent front/rear CameraX pair. The Moto g 5G (2022) firmware does not expose one, so it correctly retains the Front and Rear single-camera choices.
• Corrected the Android front-camera preview framing so the live preview matches the saved video more closely.
• Fixed a startup race while finalizing a restored Android background-location task. Existing activity data remains durable; the task cleanup is idempotent.
• Retained outabit ride-video artwork, branding, dashboards, activity tracking, stabilization, and the existing single-camera save paths.

Validation

• TypeScript and all 385 automated tests passed against source commit ffe96d91113e1fc64dfd2f8f8339f5ac078b9139.
• The exact permanently signed APK was installed in place on the test Moto g 5G (2022) as v37. The package user ID, data directory, and original first-install date remained unchanged.
• The installed base APK is byte-for-byte identical to the signed release artifact.
• APK alignment and v2, v3, and v4 signatures were verified with the permanent Beta signing identity.
• The embedded JavaScript bundle, dual-camera and video-compositor modules, and outabit artwork resources were verified in the signed APK.
• Android release built locally; no cloud build or publishing charge.

Testing limits and known issues

• Rear + selfie inset is available only when Android reports a supported concurrent front/rear camera pair. It is intentionally hidden on the test Moto because its Camera2/CameraX concurrent-camera map is empty.
• The update was installed without automatically opening the app, starting an outing, or activating the camera or microphone. User-attended recording and save checks remain appropriate after opening v37.

Install or update

1. Download RideLoop-Beta.apk from the permanent link above.
2. Open it and follow Android's installer prompts. Permit installs from the browser or file manager only if Android asks.
3. Install over the existing Beta to preserve local outings and settings. Do not uninstall first.
4. Keep Android protections enabled. Cancel if Android reports an unexpected signing or package mismatch.
5. This uses the separate package com.localloops.app.beta.

What changed

• Reorganized Settings into compact status rows with focused detail pages and clear Back navigation.
• Preserved GPS, weather briefing, bike setup, tide station, landscape riding view, default riding screen, navigation audio, elevation/calibration, and general settings.
• Added an explicit Save to Gallery action for outing images.
• Corrected Android native dependency packaging so ExpoAsset, Expo constants/fonts, and Expo MediaLibrary are embedded in the installer.
• Retained the Android Expo shared-object lifetime fix used by asynchronous native calls.

Validation performed

• Installed in place over the prior RideLoop Beta while preserving imported outings and saved routes.
• Passed two independent cold-launch checks without a crash, process death, or force-finish event.
• Confirmed History entries and route-saved status remained visible.
• Saved a valid, nonblank outing image to Gallery without granting media read/write permissions.
• Verified Android package, version, four ABI architectures, APK alignment, and v2/v3 signatures.
• Project typecheck and all 232 automated tests passed.

Install or update

1. Download RideLoop-Beta-1.1-20261012-v4.apk.
2. Open the downloaded APK and follow Android's installer prompts. Android may ask you to permit installs from the browser or file manager you used.
3. To preserve existing RideLoop Beta data, install this APK over the existing Beta. Do not uninstall the existing Beta first.
4. This installer uses the separate package com.localloops.app.beta and does not replace a production RideLoop package.

Native phone and real-world background ride tests were not performed during
packaging and remain part of beta testing.
