Bloblang now includes a standalone mapping runner, fixture tests and agent tools alongside its language server.

  • blobl mcp: six local stdio tools for evaluation, linting, formatting, batched documentation search, full documentation lookup and sample schemas.
  • blobl run: evaluate without a pipeline, return lint diagnostics with output/errors, and load mapping/input/sample files using editor-compatible fixtures and import resolution. Workers enforce a hard execution deadline.
  • blobl test: named JSON/YAML fixtures with output, metadata, deletion and error assertions.
  • Batched lexical/fuzzy search returns deduplicated results, per-query ranks, match evidence and capability metadata. Semantic search is explicitly not advertised.
  • blobl schema and editor schema previews use the existing Go jtd-infer library to produce JSON Type Definition. No JavaScript runtime, enum inference or custom type inference engine. Results include sample-based caveats and are validated against the original sample.
  • Shared sample parsing rejects extra documents and retains numeric precision.

The repository and Go module moved to github.com/teyfix/bloblang. Update Git remotes and release download URLs directly. The blobl executable, legacy server binaries/archives, LSP command IDs, configuration locations and environment variable prefixes remain compatible. VS Code extension 0.3.1 uses the new download URLs.

Documentation: MCP, evaluation, schema summaries, migration.
