Has anyone found any other way?
Chat-API has WA 2.0 implemented, right?

@claudiorafaels I think so, too. But Chat-API is already end of life. I'm also open to suggestions for this upcoming problem....

@claudiorafaels No, it isn't. Chat-api has improvements on media management but wa2.0 isn't implemented. On July both APIs will die.

@jlguardi Do you have any suggestions how to connect to Whatsapp after the 1st July?

Has anyone found an alternative? Are there any WA 2.0 implementation in progress? Does anyone have any reference how to implement this? Is not there even a paid solution?

@claudiorafaels, @KundKMC Not a better solution, but what about web.whatsapp.com and selenium? Seems like in some cases it'll work

I'm watching Disa messenger whatsapp plugin.
I have sources of it (you can find it in your app folder in phone if it rooted after downloading this plugin).
It works on C# (Xamarin), but it also uses S40 registration and authentication.
I think we need to observe what changes they (specifically him - seaneliasson) will make or already made to this plugin
P.S: I also found this https://www.whatsmate.net/whatsapp-gateway-api.html

@ruha9005 I already started tlaking to whatsmate - but I'm still not sure if the support WA 2.0 - it's crazy that there seems no solution for that. There is also the german company https://www.whatsbroadcast.com/ but they are not talking how how they did their API

Update: last Disa.WhatsApp plugin version (v1116, 19.05.2017) still uses "S40 method"

@KundKMC seems "Whatsbroadcast" and "Whatsmate" devs uses something similar...

Update: 2017-06-08

I send email for support whatsapp and received this msg.

Hello

As we announced on our blog, WhatsApp will no longer offer support for the Nokia S40 as of June 30, 2017. As a result, we also no longer offer customer support with questions related to Nokia S40 phones.

Please take a look at our FAQ articles for answers to your questions: https://faq.whatsapp.com/en/s40

Thank you for being a loyal user of WhatsApp. Rest assured, if WhatsApp works on your Nokia S40 now, it will remain fully functional by June 30, 2017. We recommend upgrading to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone by June 30, 2017 To continue using WhatsApp.

Note: It is not possible to transfer your conversation history to another phone, but you can export it via email: https://faq.whatsapp.com/s40/21055286

Please, I need some other solution to this incoming problem, I am willing to PAY for a working API or a new implementation of Yowsup! :/

Guys, sorry to say this, but you should face the bitter truth: This project is at a dead end. The same as Chat-API for PHP.
Yowsup already had a lot of problems in the past and IMHO this lib is not suitable for any kind of reliable and stable software which uses whatsapp for receiving or sending messages.

A few weeks ago I did some experiments with Whatsapp Web and Selenium/Watir automation. This worked, but certainly is not a real API and is either stable nor fast.
I think the best chance is to wait for WAs business API to be published. It is already announced. I think Facebook will take this step as they did with the Messenger.

It seems like Whatsapp postponed the end of support of both Android 2.3.3 and S40 to February 1st 2020 and December 31st 2018 respectively. The source of the news is a famous tech blog here on Brazil. Does anyone have more info to confirm this?

@danfsd there'snt a official announcement about that...

Hi,

I've read many posts from 2016 but not many recently. So, I just wanted to confirm you that I've got yowsup working correctly, but I had to register my phone by using Android env( -e android), after obtaining the pass I used S40(-e s40) to login and send messages.
