NASfone 0.2.4
Reliability update
0.2.4 fixes problems found after a week of daily use. Update servers and Windows clients.
- Servers repair their own connection. The built-in Tailscale could lose its connection silently while the app still showed "connected", and the server stayed unreachable until it was stopped and started by hand. The server now checks every 30 seconds that it is reachable (through its own Funnel address, or Tailscale's health without Funnel) while the device itself is online. If it is not, it reconnects after about a minute and restarts Tailscale after about two (at most once every 5 minutes). Meanwhile the app shows "not reachable, reconnecting" instead of "connected". Pairings and sign-ins are kept. This applies to Android and Windows servers.
- Windows no longer freezes when a server is offline. File Explorer, "This PC" and Open/Save dialogs could hang for minutes while a paired server was unreachable. Free space is now never waited for, folder listings give up after 20 seconds, and while a server is unreachable the drive answers at once from what it last saw, or with an error.
- No more double windows on Windows. A second click on the tray icon while the window was opening created a second window.
- The Windows window no longer searches the whole PATH for rclone every second, which made it stutter slightly.

Bản cập nhật độ ổn định. Bản này sửa các lỗi phát hiện sau một tuần dùng hằng ngày. Hãy cập nhật server và client Windows.
- Server tự sửa kết nối. Tailscale tích hợp có thể mất kết nối ngầm trong khi app vẫn báo "đã kết nối". Server khi đó không truy cập được cho tới khi tắt/mở bằng tay. Giờ cứ 30 giây server tự kiểm tra xem có truy cập được không: qua địa chỉ Funnel của chính nó, hoặc qua trạng thái sức khỏe của Tailscale nếu không bật Funnel. Việc kiểm tra chỉ chạy khi thiết bị vẫn có mạng. Nếu không truy cập được, server nối lại sau khoảng 1 phút, rồi khởi động lại Tailscale sau khoảng 2 phút (tối đa 1 lần mỗi 5 phút). Trong lúc đó app hiện "không truy cập được, đang tự nối lại" thay vì "đã kết nối". Ghép đôi và đăng nhập được giữ nguyên. Áp dụng cho server Android và Windows.
- Windows không còn treo khi server mất kết nối. Trước đây File Explorer, "This PC" và hộp thoại Open/Save có thể treo vài phút khi một server đã ghép đôi không truy cập được. Giờ ổ đĩa không bao giờ bắt Windows chờ để lấy dung lượng trống. Việc liệt kê thư mục dừng sau 20 giây. Khi server mất kết nối, ổ đĩa trả lời ngay bằng dữ liệu đã biết, hoặc báo lỗi.
- Không còn mở 2 cửa sổ trên Windows. Trước đây bấm thêm vào icon khay hệ thống trong lúc cửa sổ đang mở sẽ tạo cửa sổ thứ hai.
- Cửa sổ Windows không còn tìm rclone trong toàn bộ PATH mỗi giây, việc này từng làm cửa sổ hơi giật.
NASfone 0.2.3
Security update
0.2.3 hardens the server. Update every server (phone or PC); the apps need no change to keep working.
- NASfone's own data is never shared. The server's private key, sign-in list, paired apps and logs are now hidden from the share even when the storage folder contains them. Examples: a Windows server sharing
C:\Users\<name>orC:\Users, or an Android server whose storage folder is/or all of the shared storage. These folders answer "not found" to everyone, admins included, and never appear in listings. The rest of the folder is shared as before. On Windows this covers every user profile on the PC. - Sessions that probe for protected folders are locked. After 5 requests for a protected folder within 24 hours, that session ends, whatever its role. A browser is signed out, a LAN (QR) session is ended, and a paired app is unpaired and must be invited again. Normal apps never ask for these folders, so they are not affected.
- Files opened in the browser run sandboxed. An HTML or SVG file stored on the NAS can no longer run scripts with your session. Images, videos and PDFs open as before.
- The Windows app only opens web addresses (http/https) for a server's page.

- Dữ liệu riêng của NASfone không bao giờ bị chia sẻ. Khóa riêng của server, danh sách đăng nhập, app đã ghép đôi và log giờ được ẩn khỏi vùng chia sẻ, kể cả khi thư mục lưu trữ chứa chúng. Ví dụ: server Windows chia sẻ
C:\Users\<tên>hoặcC:\Users, hay server Android đặt thư mục lưu trữ là/hoặc toàn bộ bộ nhớ. Các thư mục này trả "không tìm thấy" với mọi người, kể cả admin, và không hiện trong danh sách. Phần còn lại vẫn chia sẻ như cũ. Trên Windows, việc ẩn áp dụng cho mọi tài khoản người dùng trên máy. - Phiên dò thư mục được bảo vệ sẽ bị khóa. Sau 5 lần truy cập thư mục được bảo vệ trong 24 giờ, phiên đó bị khóa dù là admin hay user. Trình duyệt bị đăng xuất, phiên LAN (QR) bị kết thúc, còn app đã ghép đôi bị gỡ ghép đôi và phải được mời lại. App dùng bình thường không bao giờ truy cập các thư mục này nên không bị ảnh hưởng.
- File mở trong trình duyệt chạy trong sandbox. File HTML hoặc SVG lưu trên NAS không còn chạy được script bằng phiên đăng nhập của bạn. Ảnh, video và PDF vẫn mở như cũ.
- App Windows chỉ mở trang web của server khi địa chỉ là http hoặc https.
NASfone 0.2.2
The Windows drive now writes straight to the server
Until 0.2.1, copying files into a NASfone drive on Windows staged them in a local cache first (rclone). The rest happened in the background:
- Windows reported the copy finished while the upload had barely started;
- large copies filled the PC's disk;
- the data reached the server only later. If the cache was deleted or the app was closed in between, the server never received it.
0.2.2 replaces this with NASfone's own drive:
- Nothing is staged on your disk. Data goes straight into the file on the server; only a few MB are held in memory while in flight.
- Honest progress. File Explorer's copy dialog shows the real upload speed.
- A copy only finishes once the server has all of it. If the connection drops, the copy fails with an error instead of "finishing" now and uploading later.
- Reads fetch only what is needed. Opening or previewing a file no longer downloads it whole.
- The tray shows files being written; quitting during a copy asks first.
Update both sides: the server (phone or PC) and the Windows app. With a server older than 0.2.2, the Windows app keeps working through rclone, now with a bounded cache, a visible "uploading" count, and old caches cleaned up safely.
If you copied large files to a NASfone drive with 0.2.1 or older, check that they are complete on the server before deleting the originals.

Ổ NASfone trên Windows giờ ghi thẳng lên server.
Từ 0.2.1 trở về trước, chép file vào ổ NASfone sẽ lưu tạm vào cache trên máy rồi mới tải lên dần. Hệ quả:
- Windows báo "chép xong" trong khi dữ liệu chưa lên server;
- chép file lớn làm đầy ổ C:;
- nếu cache bị xoá hoặc app bị tắt giữa chừng thì dữ liệu không bao giờ tới server.
Bản 0.2.2 thay bằng ổ đĩa riêng của NASfone:
- Không lưu tạm gì trên ổ đĩa của máy. Dữ liệu đi thẳng vào file trên server, chỉ giữ vài MB trong RAM lúc đang gửi.
- Thanh tiến độ của Explorer là tốc độ tải lên thật.
- Chép chỉ xong khi server đã nhận đủ. Mất mạng thì báo lỗi ngay, không "xong" giả.
- Mở hoặc xem trước file chỉ tải phần cần dùng, không tải nguyên file.
- Khay hệ thống hiện số file đang ghi. Thoát khi đang chép thì app sẽ hỏi lại.
Cần cập nhật cả hai phía: server (điện thoại hoặc PC) và app Windows. Nếu server còn bản cũ, app Windows vẫn chạy được qua rclone với cache có giới hạn, có hiện số file đang chờ tải lên, và tự dọn cache cũ an toàn.
Nếu bạn từng chép file lớn vào ổ NASfone bằng bản 0.2.1 trở về trước, hãy kiểm tra file trên server đã đủ chưa trước khi xoá bản gốc.

Windows: several servers at once
The Windows client can now be paired with more than one NASfone server. Each server becomes its own drive, for example your phone as P: and a PC server as Q:.
- Pair another server in the NASfone window, or click "Connect the app" on another server's web page. New pairings are added to the list; existing ones stay connected.
- Each server has its own card with these controls:
- open in File Explorer, web page and reconnect;
- its drive letter, which can be changed;
- Unpair.
- If a server revokes this PC, only that drive is disconnected.
- Pairing the same server again replaces its old entry instead of adding a duplicate.
- Your existing pairing is moved over automatically and keeps its drive letter. Nothing needs to be re-paired.
- Fixed: quitting or updating NASfone could leave a drive mounted.
Android and iPhone clients already supported several servers. They are unchanged in this release.

App Windows giờ kết nối được nhiều server cùng lúc. Mỗi server là một ổ đĩa riêng, ví dụ điện thoại là P: và PC server là Q:.
- Bấm Ghép thêm server trong cửa sổ NASfone, hoặc bấm "Kết nối app" trên trang web của server kia. Server mới được thêm vào danh sách, các server cũ vẫn giữ kết nối.
- Mỗi server có một thẻ riêng, gồm:
- mở trong File Explorer, mở trang web, kết nối lại;
- đổi ký tự ổ đĩa;
- hủy ghép đôi.
- Server nào thu hồi máy này thì chỉ ổ của server đó bị ngắt.
- Ghép lại cùng một server sẽ thay mục cũ, không tạo thêm bản trùng.
- Ghép đôi đang có tự chuyển sang dạng mới, giữ nguyên ký tự ổ, không cần ghép lại.
- Sửa lỗi: thoát hoặc cập nhật NASfone đôi khi để sót ổ đĩa còn gắn.
App Android và iPhone vốn đã hỗ trợ nhiều server, bản này không thay đổi gì ở hai app đó.
NASfone 0.2.0
One app per platform
NASfone is now one app for Android and one for Windows. On first launch you choose what the device does:

The role can be changed later in Settings. Existing installs keep their role: a phone that was a server stays a server, and a paired Windows client stays a client.

NASfone-Server-0.2.0.apk and NASfone-Windows-Client-Setup-0.2.0.exe are the same files under their old names, so 0.1.x installs can update themselves. New users can ignore them.
What's new
- Role chooser on both platforms. This replaces the separate Android client and Windows server betas.
- Android client role:
- pairing with a key held by the Android Keystore;
- browse, upload and download;
- the NAS in the Files app;
- automatic photo & video backup;
- the fastest path (LAN, then tailnet, then Funnel) is chosen automatically.
- Windows server role:
- shares a folder of the PC with embedded Tailscale, Funnel, sign-in codes, paired apps and LAN access;
- LAN QR requests are approved in its window with a 4-character check code;
- the installer allows LAN access through the firewall on private networks only.
- Servers tell paired apps their addresses, so clients can use the LAN when they are on the same network.
- Updates understand betas and keep your setup, as before.
iPhone / iPad (beta)
NASfone-iOS-0.2.0.ipa is the iOS client: pairing by QR with a Secure Enclave key, browse, view, share, download (Files app › On My iPhone › NASfone), upload, and photo & video backup. It is built by GitHub Actions and is not signed yet. Install it with Sideloadly or AltStore using your own Apple ID; a free Apple ID needs re-signing every 7 days. It has not been tested on a real device yet, so please report problems.
Notes
- The Windows installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn. Click "More info", then "Run anyway".
- If you installed the Windows server beta, uninstall "NASfone for Windows - Server" first. Its data in
%APPDATA%\NASfone-Serveris reused when you choose the server role.
