Release list
NetPulse v0.1.0
NetPulse v0.1.0 — first public release
A real-time download/upload speedometer that lives as a dynamic, self-updating icon in the Windows system tray — right next to your clock, battery, and Wi-Fi icons — the closest any Windows 11 app can legally get to a taskbar widget, since Windows itself blocks apps from doing that directly. Plus an optional always-on-top desktop widget, and 8 selectable visual styles.
Highlights
- Live, self-repainting tray icon (download + upload as two independent, pinnable icons)
- 8 visual styles: Plain Text, Dual Needle Gauge, Mini Graph, Neon Bar, Big Download, Thunder, Fire & Ice, Orbital Rings
- Optional always-on-top, draggable desktop widget
- Light/dark theme detection, configurable units (Kbps → GB/s), auto-start with Windows
- Zero telemetry — see PRIVACY.md
Install
Download NetPulse-Setup-0.1.0.exe below, run it, and follow the wizard. Requires the free .NET 8 Desktop Runtime (x64) — the installer checks for it automatically.
Windows SmartScreen may warn on first run since this build isn't code-signed — see SECURITY.md for why that's expected and how to verify the build yourself.
