Stackyard 1.0.2
A stability release, plus two small additions.
Downloads
Stackyard-1.0.2-win-x64.zip: everything, as before.Stackyard-1.0.2-lite-win-x64.zip(new): the same without MySQL and PostgreSQL: 288 MB instead of 408 MB.README.txtexplains how to add a database later.
Right-click the zip > Properties > Unblock, then unzip. Updating from 1.0.1: quit Stackyard and copy the new Stackyard.exe over the old one. Your bin\, www\, data\ and config\ stay as they are.
New
- Check for Stackyard updates in Settings > About. A newer version shows up next to the version number at the top, with a link to this page. Nothing is downloaded or installed by itself.
- Optional daily check in Settings > Startup (off by default, so Stackyard makes no network requests unless you ask).
More stable
- Quitting right after stopping a service no longer kills MySQL or PostgreSQL in the middle of a clean shutdown.
- Stopping a service while it is still starting now works: it stops as soon as it is up, instead of the stop being ignored.
- A stuck
mysqladmin shutdowncan no longer hang Stackyard (it could wait up to an hour). Stopping is now always time-limited. - MySQL and PostgreSQL get 5 minutes to start instead of 1. Crash recovery or an upgrade of a big data folder is no longer cut short.
- Safer
settings.jsonsaves: no lost changes when two saves overlap, retries while antivirus holds the file. - PATH backups made within the same second no longer overwrite each other.
- Error messages read only the end of large log files, and the window stops polling while it is hidden in the tray.
Stackyard is free. My Claude subscription isn't. Chip in a coffee?
