Audio Splitter v1.2.0 adds stronger volume control, clearer progress for long audiobooks, and native file selection.

  • Maximize volume: dynamic leveling raises quiet passages, soft compression controls louder sections, and an oversampled limiter reduces peaks. Each chunk gets one MP3 encode followed by a true-peak check.
  • Warnings without stopping: chunks above the -1 dBTP peak target are saved anyway, processing continues, and a warning summary appears afterward. These files may still clip.
  • Elapsed time and time remaining: elapsed time updates every second. The finish estimate starts after the first completed chunk and includes encoding and peak-check time.
  • Native file and folder pickers: Linux uses the desktop's configured XDG Desktop Portal chooser, with a Tk fallback when unavailable. Windows keeps its native system dialogs. Cancelling input selection preserves the previously selected file.
  • Faster long-file splitting: direct seeking avoids decoding the recording from the beginning for every chunk. Exact chunk-length multiples no longer produce an empty trailing file.
  • Responsive interface: progress and completion updates run on Tk's main thread, and the final elapsed time remains visible when processing finishes or stops.

The existing Off and Normalize volume modes remain available. Stronger leveling can raise background noise and cannot repair distortion already present in the source.
