W6OZZ CPS 1.4.0
Write your codeplug straight to the radio, no CPS needed
Connect the programming cable, close the BTECH CPS and use Radio > Write codeplug to radio (or the Write to radio button). The program reads the radio, shows what will change, saves what was on the radio, sends the new codeplug the way the CPS does and checks it afterwards. Radio > Read codeplug from radio brings what is on the radio into a project, and Radio > Restore codeplug from a backup puts a saved read back. The BTECH CPS route still works: Export > Export CSV files for the CPS writes the CSVs and a .LST for Tool > Import > Import From File List.
Works on Windows (this release) and on a Mac (Mac preview). A read and a whole-codeplug write have been run and read back identical on a real Mac.
Keep a CPS backup (.rdt) of your codeplug before the first write.
Also new in 1.4.0
- Repeaters from RepeaterBook with your own RepeaterBook token (DMR and analog, up to 5 states per click), next to RadioID.net and BrandMeister. Data courtesy of RepeaterBook.com.
- Zones as views: a channel can be in several zones, Favorites zones and Talkgroup zones; zones sorted by distance from your home town.
- Check repeaters for updates against RadioID.net and BrandMeister; BrandMeister repeater health and static talkgroups.
- Route builder: repeaters along a drive, a route zone and GPS zone switching (
GpsRoaming.CSVon Export). - Scan lists 2 to 8, caller names (
DigitalContactList.CSV) andAPRS.CSVon Export, a simplex preset, polite transmit, and safety warnings for transmit outside the amateur bands. - Fixes from the first real-Mac tests: past the radio's 250 receive group lists, repeaters with the same talkgroups share a list; unticked zone talkgroups stay in the list.
Install
Download W6OZZ-CPS-windows-1.4.0.zip, extract the whole folder and run CodeplugBuilder.exe. Nothing to install (it uses the .NET Framework 4.8 that Windows has). The program is not code-signed, so SmartScreen may ask: More info > Run anyway. Unofficial and not affiliated with BTECH, RepeaterBook, RadioID.net or BrandMeister; use at your own risk. MIT licensed.

W6OZZ CPS 1.4.0 for Mac (preview)
Preview of the Mac version of W6OZZ CPS 1.4.0. The Windows release of 1.4.0 is here.
Write your codeplug straight to the radio, no CPS needed
Radio > Write codeplug to radio reads the radio, shows what will change, saves what was on it, sends the new codeplug the way the BTECH CPS does and checks it. Radio > Read codeplug from radio brings what is on the radio into a project. The same on Windows and on a Mac, over the radio's USB cable. The CSV export for the BTECH CPS is still there as the alternative.
What has been tested on a real Mac, and what has not
Tested by a person on an Apple Silicon Mac (macOS, 2026-10-07): the build, Help > Diagnostics, the map, the new-codeplug wizard from the region step to the zones step, radio detection (/dev/cu.usbmodem*), Radio > Read codeplug from radio, and Radio > Write codeplug to radio (a small codeplug, read back identical, radio working afterwards).
Not yet tested by a person on a Mac, only built and run on a GitHub macOS machine: RepeaterBook, Find repeaters online, Browse BrandMeister, Check repeaters for updates, the route builder, zone views, GPS zone switching, Save / Open, Export CSV, Radio > Restore, trackpad pinch zoom. Expect rough edges and please report what you find.
Always keep a backup of your codeplug (a CPS .rdt made on Windows) before the first write.
Install (Terminal, no Gatekeeper warning)
Apple Silicon (M1 and later; uname -m prints arm64):
cd ~/Downloads
curl -LO https://github.com/travaniel/dmr-codeplug-builder/releases/download/mac-preview-1.4.0/W6OZZ-CPS-mac-arm64.zip
ditto -x -k W6OZZ-CPS-mac-arm64.zip /Applications
open "/Applications/W6OZZ CPS.app"
Intel Macs (uname -m prints x86_64): use W6OZZ-CPS-mac-x64.zip instead.
Install (browser)
Download the zip for your Mac, unzip it, drag W6OZZ CPS.app to Applications, then right-click it, choose Open, then Open. If macOS says it is damaged: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/W6OZZ CPS.app" and open it again.
The app has an ad-hoc signature (no Apple developer account), so macOS asks once on a browser download.
Please test
Follow the checklist: https://github.com/travaniel/dmr-codeplug-builder/blob/main/docs/MAC-TESTING.md
Start with Help > Diagnostics, then the wizard and map, then Radio > Read codeplug from radio. If the radio is not found, Radio > Radio port... lets you pick the port. Copy the Diagnostics report into an issue: https://github.com/travaniel/dmr-codeplug-builder/issues
What it does
Builds codeplugs for the BTECH DMR-6X2 PRO: a map-based new-codeplug wizard, repeater / hotspot / zone / talkgroup editing, CSV export for the CPS (Tool > Import > Import From File List), and reading and writing the radio over USB.
Data and credits
DMR repeaters and IDs: RadioID.net. Talkgroup names: BrandMeister. Analog and extra DMR repeaters: RepeaterBook, downloaded with your own RepeaterBook token (Data courtesy of RepeaterBook.com, https://www.repeaterbook.com). Map: US Census and Natural Earth (public domain), GeoNames (CC BY 4.0). Unofficial and not affiliated with BTECH, RepeaterBook, RadioID.net or BrandMeister; use at your own risk. MIT licensed.
SHA-256 checksums are in SHA256SUMS.txt. Built by the "Mac build and checks" workflow from commit 86015f0: the 1.4.0 release plus a draggable divider on the Repeaters and Zones tabs and grid columns that share a wider window. (The release tag marks the earlier 1.4.0 commit, 448d9bf; the zips here are newer.)

W6OZZ CPS 1.3.0 for Mac (preview)
Preview of the Mac version. It has not yet been run by a person on a real Mac or with a radio on a Mac's USB port. It has been built, run and checked on a GitHub macOS (Apple Silicon) machine: engine tests, the whole new-codeplug wizard with real downloads, and the map. Expect rough edges and please report what you find.
