First release.

  • sidecarctl connect and disconnect start and end Sidecar from the command line, over the cable, Wi-Fi, or the cable when there is one.
  • Devices can be named or given by UUID.
  • status and --json output for scripts, with stable exit codes.
  • boost and connect --boost route the session through a virtual display. This made Sidecar more responsive on the iPad Pro it was tested with. Results vary, and no particular refresh rate is promised.

Requires Apple silicon. Tested on macOS 27 with an iPad Pro 13-inch (M4).

The binary is signed and notarized. Unpack the tarball and move sidecarctl somewhere on your PATH.
