Summary

  • The knowledge graph is now a topic map of typed connections, each with the sentence that states it.
  • Pages record where sources disagree or a claim changed over time, and a claim check compares sources.
  • Name matching is stricter and checks doubtful pairs with the AI; Repair wiki fixes older wikis in one run.
  • MCP 2.0: eight tools for your own AI agent, which replaces the in-app chat.
  • The database moves from v25 to v30 in one upgrade step at boot. Old backups still restore.

Highlights

  • Topic map: typed connections (uses, part of, created by…), focus, connect two pages, bridges, missing pages, a Connections card with quoted evidence, and "may be outdated" lines.
  • Disagreements: "Disputed:" and "Changed:" sections, a Disagreements box to confirm or dismiss each finding, and a claim check across sources.
  • Name matching: one page per thing, abbreviations kept to one meaning, an AI check on doubtful pairs, closest-by-meaning candidates.
  • Upkeep: Wiki health with Repair wiki (backup first, cost shown, all or none) and an update card for pages written under older rules.
  • Redo part of the last compile (#140): re-plan, re-write or re-save from the progress page, with a preview and cost.
  • MCP 2.0: search_wiki by meaning, read_page, read_source, list_sources, research_topic, wiki_status, recent_changes, and add_source behind a setting.
  • Reading: search by meaning in the app, numbered citations, source pages that show the source itself (web pages cut to the article), the last two versions of each page kept.
  • Backups: carry everything at any size; backups from older versions restore what they hold. Saved Links shows one row per link (#139); a page whose rewrite fails is archived, not left stale (#8).
  • Security: Kompl answers only to its own hosts and refuses cross-site writes; every redirect and upload path is checked; Next.js 16.4.3 and other dependency fixes. If you reach Kompl through a reverse proxy or host.docker.internal, add that name to KOMPL_ALLOWED_HOSTS.

Upgrading

Run kompl backup, then kompl update. The first start migrates the database to v30 and rebuilds the MCP server; restart your AI agent so it loads the new tools (list_pages is now search_wiki, wiki_stats is now wiki_status).
