With Legends teams switched on, the game stopped after choosing a team in World Championship and clicking Continue. That's fixed, and the Legends sides still show their country's badge.

Weather variety, and a tidier Settings window

• Weather variety. Overcast, humid and mild days at grounds that only ever had sunny weather. It's in Settings → Gameplay and off unless you switch it on.
• Settings in tabs. Settings is now split into Teams, Gameplay, Picture, Saves and App, so each option is easier to find. Rarely changed picture options are under Fine-tuning.

More realistic cricket: four new options

All are in Settings and off unless you switch them on.

• Realistic dismissals. A mistimed shot is beaten more often, so batters are bowled, LBW or caught off bat and pad more, and a well-timed shot less. The computer's batters are easier to get out on easy difficulties; you are on hard ones.
• Livelier pitches. Dusty pitches turn more and keep low for fast bowlers; green and damp pitches help seam bowlers more.
• More sixes in short games. Sixes are easier to time in limited-overs matches, as in today's T20 and one-day cricket. Test matches are unchanged.
• Today's fast bowlers at their real pace. With Current squads (2026) on, Bumrah, Starc, Wood, Nortje, Haris Rauf and the other quicks now bowl up to their own top speed.

Fair bowling speeds with current squads, and two new options

• Bowling speeds fixed. With Current squads (2026) on, some of today's players bowled at the top speed of a 2006 fast bowler (Josh Inglis at Brett Lee's 99 mph, Salman Agha at Shoaib Akhtar's 100). They now bowl at their normal pace. The Legends sides keep their speeds. The first time you start the game after updating, it takes a few extra seconds to update the players.
• New: Realistic edges (Settings, off unless you switch it on). A mistimed shot finds the edge more often and a well-timed one less, for you and the computer, in every format. It makes the game harder.
• New: Tab in menus (Settings, off unless you switch it on). Tab and Shift+Tab move through the game's menus like the arrow keys.
• The Settings window is easier to use with the keyboard: Enter switches an option on or off.
• The app no longer offers an "update" to the version you already have.

Fixes for a white window on Windows

Some Windows PCs showed only a white window. This usually means the graphics driver couldn't start.

• The app now notices when the game's picture doesn't appear, tells you, and restarts with safer graphics settings. On the safest setting the game runs without the graphics card: slower, but it plays.
• Updating your graphics driver (from Intel, AMD or NVIDIA's website) brings back full graphics automatically. There's also a Try Normal Graphics button in Settings.
• The app now keeps a log file. If something goes wrong, open Settings → Show Log File and attach log.txt to your report. It helps us fix problems much faster.

Safer game window. Links from the game page now only open web pages in your browser, the game window can't be sent to other websites, and the game is no longer allowed to ask for things it doesn't need (camera, microphone, location and so on). Nothing changes when you play.

Windows fixes. "Screenshot saved" notifications now show on Windows, the backup message says "Show Folder" instead of "Show in Finder", and if a game engine update can't be put in place (for example while antivirus is scanning), the game keeps working on the old engine instead of breaking. The first-launch message now gives the right download size.

Legends teams in their own country's colours. Each Legends team now wears its country's kit in a classic shade, so it looks like that country but stands apart from today's side: India Legends in navy, Pakistan Legends in deep green, Australia Legends in canary yellow, and so on. (Before, some Legends teams wore an old A-team kit that looked like another country's.)

Fixed: a false "game engine update available" message. It appeared every day even though nothing had changed. No need to press Update game engine for it.

Legends teams. With Current squads (2026) on, switch on Legends teams in Settings (⌘, or Ctrl+,). A new Legends category appears in team select (press Space to change category): India Legends with Tendulkar and Dravid, Australia Legends with Ponting and Warne, and the other 2006 sides. Play India today against Pakistan Legends, or even against India Legends.

• Australia, India, Pakistan, South Africa and West Indies Legends wear a different kit from today's team.
• The Australian state teams move to the Other category while Legends is on. The State Season still uses them.

Fixed: the bar under the batting mini-screen sticking out. This started with the game engine update of 26 October. Widescreen works as before.

1.6.0: today's players

New: Current squads (2026). Play with Kohli, Bumrah, Root, Babar, Cummins and today's other players for the 10 main teams: India, Australia, England, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

Switch it on in Settings (⌘, or Ctrl+,) → Current squads (2026). The game restarts once to update the players. Switch it off any time to go back to the original 2006 squads.

Good to know:

• New players use the game's standard faces, and the commentators say only some of their names.
• Ratings are our own. If you think a player is rated wrong, tell us.
• Your saves and settings are kept.

Cricket 07 1.5.0: smoother on slower laptops

What's new

• Stays smooth on slower laptops. If your computer can't keep the game at full speed, the heaviest picture effects ease off a little by themselves. Fast computers keep full quality. You can switch this off in Settings (Keep the game smooth).
• No more frozen screen. On some slower computers the game could crash, often right after choosing Quit in the game's menu, and the picture froze. Now the app tells you the game has stopped: press Esc to close, or Enter to start again.
• Show frame rate (new in Settings): see how fast the game runs. 60 is full speed.

Tip: on a laptop, plug in the charger for the smoothest game.
