Project Helghast 0.1.7, a pre-release: partly playable, see docs/RELEASE-CRITERIA.md. New in 0.1.7:
Added
- The mouse works in the game's confirmation dialogs: hovering an option highlights it as the pad does (checked in Exit game, Quit to desktop and Reset to defaults) and a click picks it (checked in Exit game and Reset to defaults), under Proton on the 1.14 update.
- Optional gyro input from a DSU (cemuhook) server on this PC, for motion controls with pads that have sensors: off by default, set on the Layout and prompts page (checked with a test server only).
Changed
- Motion Sensor Function now defaults to Off for a pad without motion sensors (an Xbox pad, for example), so the motion sections read the stick instead; the on-screen hint still says to turn the controller, and the change has not yet been tried at the valve section. A pad with sensors keeps the game's default.
- The light-probe SPU job runs as native code by default with the 1.14 update;
KZ3_NATIVE_JOB_LIGHTPROBES=0runs the recompiled job instead. In a busy Frozen Shores scene it lowered that job's cost by about 40 % and raised the frame rate by about 0.7 frames/s (scripted runs, three alternated pairs under Proton; hand play is not measured). - The Discord status text and the setting's help line now say "Playing Project Helghast", which is what Discord shows.
Fixed
- A moved or renamed install folder (the portable zip unpacked, built, then moved) no longer reuses the build tree of the old folder: the next start empties
build/obj, runs configure and compile again (the lifted code is kept) and says why in one line, instead of failing on the old paths or creating the old folder again. Recorded game paths below the old folder follow the move. The setup no longer proposes a previous install folder that holds[,]or;or no longer exists: it proposes the default folder and says why. Reported by @Rainy101 (#20). - The setup and the portable zip's first check refuse an install or build folder whose path contains
[,]or;with a plain message, instead of stopping at step 6 of 9 (configure) with a CMake compiler-detection error: the build tools cannot use such a folder name. Reported by @Rainy101 (#20).

Windows installer and portable zip. You need your own Killzone 3 disc dump (a folder or a decrypted ISO), the 1.14 update and a decrypted EBOOT from your own copy; none of them is included or downloaded. SHA-256 sums: SHA256SUMS (and the .sha256 files). See the README for what it does and what goes online.
