Install

# One-line install (auto-detects GPU, pinned to this release)
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/utensils/mold/v0.36.0/install.sh | MOLD_VERSION=v0.36.0 sh

# From source with GPU support.
# `protoc` is a BUILD requirement of the `pulid` feature (face
# identity): candle-onnx's build script drives prost-build, which
# shells out to it. Install it first or the build fails partway.
brew install protobuf # macOS
sudo apt-get install -y protobuf-compiler # Debian/Ubuntu
# (Arch: pacman -S protobuf · Fedora: dnf install protobuf-compiler)

cargo install --git https://github.com/utensils/mold --tag v0.36.0 --features h3,mesh-texture,mesh-matting,mesh-delight,metal,preview,discord,expand,webp,mp4,metrics,mdns,pulid # macOS
cargo install --git https://github.com/utensils/mold --tag v0.36.0 --features cuda,flash-attn,preview,discord,expand,webp,mp4,metrics,mdns,pulid # Linux; flash-attn is what the released CUDA artifacts compile, use the SM89 artifact for H3

Desktop apps

Mac: two desktop apps, side by side (which one?). Mold-Studio-macos-arm64.dmg (also attached as Mold-native-*.dmg) — Mold Studio, built natively for macOS (Apple Silicon, macOS 26 or newer), signed, notarized and stapled. It updates itself through Sparkle; mold-native-appcast.xml beside it is that channel's feed. Stable link to the newest build: https://github.com/utensils/mold/releases/latest/download/Mold-Studio-macos-arm64.dmg

Mold-macos-arm64.dmg (also attached with its versioned name) — Mold Desktop for Mac, the same app as Windows and Linux (Apple Silicon, macOS 12 or newer). Signed, notarized, and stapled. Stable link: https://github.com/utensils/mold/releases/latest/download/Mold-macos-arm64.dmg

mold-desktop-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu-cpu.tar.gz — the Linux desktop app for remote GPU hosts (no CUDA), as a usr/ tree with its .desktop entry and icons. Arch users install it as the mold-ai-desktop-bin AUR package; mold-ai-desktop builds the CUDA app from source.

Mold-windows-x64-self-signed.exe — self-signed NSIS installer. Verify and explicitly trust the attached mold-windows-self-signing.cert.cer before installation. This certificate is not publicly trusted and does not suppress SmartScreen by itself.
