Venera Release v0.2.2
Venera Release v0.2.2
Venera v0.2.2 brings together the Venera Node, Venera RPC, and Venera CLI Wallet, with support for local VNR wallet operations and BNB Smart Chain assets on Ubuntu and Windows.
This release introduces a native wallet experience, improves synchronization visibility, and connects local wallets to Venera’s staking and burn-reward services.
Native CLI Wallet
Create a new wallet or restore an existing VNR mnemonic seed directly from the command line. Wallet keys are generated and used locally, with encrypted wallet files and password unlocking for sensitive operations.
The CLI manages its local wallet RPC process automatically, so users do not need to start or configure a separate wallet RPC instance for normal CLI use.
Supported VNR operations include:
- Sending and receiving VNR.
- Viewing total and unlocked balances.
- Refreshing wallet data with synchronization progress.
- Reviewing transaction history, including transaction hashes, amounts, timestamps, heights, and confirmations.
- Selecting the node used for wallet synchronization.
Previously generated wallets through the web wallet will restore normally but with a different assigned ERC-20 address due to key derivation algorithm changes.
BNB Smart Chain Support
Manage BNB, USDT, and USDC on BNB Smart Chain alongside your VNR wallet.
The associated BSC account is derived locally from the VNR wallet’s spend key, keeping both accounts connected. Address generation and transaction signing take place locally, while BSC balance queries and transaction broadcasting use the configured BSC endpoint.
BNB is used to pay network fees for USDT and USDC transfers.
Staking and Burn Rewards
Local wallets can now participate in Venera’s existing reward system through the rewards API.
- Staking: Submit a VNR deposit to the staking pool and register it for a supported 30, 60, 120, or 360-day period. The CLI displays stake information, expected yield, and maturity dates in UTC.
- Burning: Burn VNR and register the transaction for backend verification and reward tracking.
- Burn statistics: View registered burns, reward points, and accumulated yield.
- USDT claims: Request available burn yield through
claim_burn_yield, with payouts distributed by the Venera treasury.
Staking records, reward calculations, and payouts remain handled by Venera’s backend services.
Public Node and RPC
The public node build synchronizes the Venera blockchain, verifies approved blocks, relays transactions, and serves local wallets.
Wallet RPC supports authenticated local connections over TLS, with optional HTTP on loopback for independent integrations. It can also start without an open wallet, allowing applications to restore or open one afterward through RPC.
Console and Build Improvements
- Clearer synchronization progress and formatted wallet output.
- Ubuntu and Windows MSYS2 UCRT64 build support.
- Static build scripts for the node, RPC, and CLI.
