Venus Extracurriculars 0.7.0

An unofficial community build for Venus University 0.7.0 for Windows. VE's version now matches the supported base-game version. This is still the bundled build with 26 mods; the standalone-mod migration is ongoing.

Changes

• Compatibility with the redesigned New Game/application flow and continued semesters, including per-stat Starting Challenge choices, Character Dynamics, Echo setup and City Life.
• Support for the native End scene action with Story Memory bookkeeping and protections for unfinished interactive activities. Cancelled or abandoned enrollment callbacks cannot start a game later.
• More mods use the public hooks and mod kit, preserving their existing features while reducing future update conflicts.
• Prompt Studio now supplies text edits, scene requests and variables through the framework hooks. Edit system prompt stays available beside its button. Story Memory is prepared before preset assembly, and presets are applied once.
• Prompt Studio's New Game class/profile requests use the base game's shipped text again when no edits are supplied.

Install or update

1. Save, close the game and back up the data folder beside Venus University.exe.
2. Uninstall an existing VE build or standalone patch with its own uninstaller. Keep that installer folder until the uninstall is complete.
3. Use the official Venus University 0.7.0 Windows build from itch.io. This patch does not update an older base game for you.
4. Extract the entire ZIP, then run Install.cmd and select the game folder if asked. Do not run it from inside the ZIP.
5. Your saves, characters, presets and ComfyUI files stay in the data folder. To replace this VE version later, close the game, run this package's Uninstall.cmd, then use the newer compatible installer.

Prompt Studio upgrade notes

• Preset variables move into Prompt Studio's mod-owned save slice when saved. This migration is one-way for older VE builds; keep a backup if you may roll back.
• An old save made mid-scene retains its current variables but not its old variable-rollback history. Finish the current scene before upgrading if you rely on those variables; cutting inside that older scene cannot restore the old marks. New scenes track their rollback history normally.
• Preset application is desktop-only in this implementation. The browser build retains text edits but no longer assembles presets. This release download is the Windows installer.

The installer uses VE's existing backup/uninstall mechanism. Installation, native image conversion/cropping, exact original-file restoration, data retention and packaged startup were tested on a disposable official 0.7.0 copy. No developer test saves or local-only experimental builds are included.

This build is not made or supported by Venus Dev. Report VE issues to this repository. Each mod's author is listed in the Mods screen.

Venus Extracurriculars 0.4.0 (unofficial)

An unofficial community build of Venus University. It isn't made or supported by Venus Dev, so problems shouldn't be reported to him.

Requirements: Venus University 0.6.0, the official Windows build from itch.io, with no other mods installed. The installer checks the game before changing anything, and Uninstall restores it to its original state.

What's new

• Built on Venus University 0.6.0, including its editable lorebook: each playthrough's own world entries and setting, edited from the Bunnyboard's Lorebook tab, with SillyTavern import and export.
• New mods ship switched off. Everything new below starts off on the Mods screen, so updating changes nothing in a game you're playing until you turn it on. Mods you already had stay as they were.
• Campus Talents (Maestro Leeds, off): six talent trees and 43 talents, bought with Bond Points earned from positive relationship gains — more at low stats, less at high. Perks, abilities, and Personal Growth trading of points for stats. Existing saves get a one-time allowance.
• Starting Challenge (Maestro Leeds, off): four starts below the normal floor — Struggling, Rock Bottom, Life's Punchline, Peaked in the Womb — chosen per stat in New Game, Quickstart or the Scene Creator.
• Godlike Standards (Maestro Leeds, off): a Godlike trait for a character, who then wants Godly Brain, Body and Heart before a romance can begin. Friendship grows as usual.
• Prompt Studio 1.0.0 (Sharp, off): an editor for what the writer is sent — import SillyTavern and Marinara presets, lay them over scene calls, rewrite the game's own instructions, keep variables the model updates turn by turn. Adds no AI calls.
• Emoji Extended 1.0.0 (naudh1r, off): every emoji on the phone, not just eight. A smiley beside the box opens them all in tabs, with search, your recent ones first and a skin tone for hands and people. Emoji in texts and posts stand a size up, and a text of nothing but a few is drawn big.
• City Life 1.1.0 (Maestro Leeds): the Dance Studio, with day and night backgrounds, and a Dance Instructor job at $300 a shift for a Dancer III through Campus Talents.
• Bunnyfeeds 1.1.0 (naudh1r): a Notifications page beside the feed under Updates, listing every answer to your comments, with unread counts on the Updates tile and the landing. Commenters reworked — friends comment on their own, other girls when you tag them, their replies true to how they stand with the poster, and anyone you answer directly answers back. Each post's crowd is rolled before the reply is written. Other students get a face drawn from their handle, in a style you pick on the Mods screen with a live preview.
• Photo Feature 1.5.0 (naudh1r): an experimental 2 girls 1 photo option, off by default — a girl's post can be a photo of her and a friend, and a scene with two or more girls can bring one, posted to a feed. Body details are now set from Manage Characters, under a character's Generation settings. Posts waiting on a picture show on top of their slot when it comes out.
• Mini-games 0.2.0 (beta) (morrowkiln, with naudh1r): a girl's invitation and an agreed game are saved with the scene — reload mid-match and it restarts with the same players and settings, reload after a result and it carries on from there. A girl can invite you to a game at the place you are or somewhere else, and agrees before anyone goes. An experimental training slots option, off by default, offers a real game under Improve Stats and pays the stat when you finish. Truth or Dare opens to Anything goes where Less NSFW text is off. Air Hockey's skill 4 and 5 step up more gently.
• [Nd] Arcade & Bar Games 0.2.0 (naudh1r): four new Darts modes — Player vs Girls Team, Chase the Leader, Precision Duel and Exact Total — a mode you can't play says why, and a steadier board.
• Story Memory 1.1.1 (Maestro Leeds): no longer repeats the dated recaps 0.6.0's own prompts already carry; corrections, the people present and lasting developments are ranked first.

Fixes

• Mini-games: picking a game from the list, such as Play alone, no longer leaves an invisible table that still takes clicks; no game is offered at orientation, in the epilogue, in a created scene, a replay or a game over, where its table could never open; a game agreed under one content setting and reloaded under another opens no wider than the setting allows; "Not now" no longer reopens the table, and a delayed result is no longer dropped.
• The Hare & Quill shows the reader's own portrait on his comments (Maestro Leeds).
• Photo Feature: Gemini no longer describes an undressed picture as taken in a dorm; selfie, pose and colour fixes, and wardrobe handling for posts with pictures.
• Campus Talents, Starting Challenge and the rest of Maestro's mods settle stats through the build's hooks rather than the game's own files.

For modders

The mod system gained hooks this release, each documented in MODDING.md: a projection of scene memories before the crush roll; optional save and enrollment fields by declaration merging, with nothing to edit in the save rules; a scene slot for a mod's own data, saved and restored with the scene; an emoji tool and sent-text spots on the phone; a page beside the feed under Updates and a preview under a mod's options on the Mods screen; a line under each girl posting, and the order of posts that come out late; extra ComfyUI prompt nodes by id; and the stat settlement in three parts — what the hour exercised, the floor a stat may fall to, and what a finished scene pays. Mod code can now land in a mod's own files alone, which is where the next version of the build is headed.

Before you install

Back up your saves. Uninstall 0.3.1 first, then install 0.4.0.

Invitations after a reload and training slots in Mini-games haven't been played yet — both are off by default; reports welcome.

Fixed: installing the build broke image compression and profile picture cropping (Sharp’s native files were packed into the archive). Thanks Sharp for the report and Maestro for the fix.

Needs: Venus University 0.5.0, the official Windows build from itch.io, with no other mods installed. The setup checks the game before changing anything, and Uninstall puts it back as it was.

What's new

• Built on Venus University 0.5.0, including its own New Game+: a playthrough carries on past its ending a semester at a time.
• Continuing Semesters is retired. The game's New Game+ now covers what it did. The other mods carry their save data through New Game+ (Echo, Character Dynamics, Photo Feature, Bunnyfeeds).
• Mini-games (beta) Packs: [MK] Arcade & Bar Games, [MK] Card Games, [MK] Party Games, [MK] Sports, and [Nd] Arcade & Bar Games (Darts, by naudh1r). The games are a proof of concept more than polished games, so feedback is welcome.
• Bunnyfeeds 1.0.0: comment threads on Bunnyboard posts.
• Photo Feature 1.4.0: uses the game's post spots, works with your own ComfyUI, and sends photos when a girl texts first.
• Breaking Through the Silence: Unheard Soul artwork can now be made with your local ComfyUI as well as the image API.

Fixes

• WebP images now load for Echo and Unheard Soul artwork.
• Echo and Character Dynamics set up correctly for girls who are new in a New Game+ semester.
• Maestro's mods work with 0.5.0's semesters and ComfyUI settings.
• Mini-games follow the scene's current location after a scene change, and no longer overlap the dialogue and input.
• The installer accepts the official game's files whatever their line endings.

New mods

• Incoming Texts (sav): tick "Incoming text" in a DM and describe the message you want her to send; only her texts appear in the thread. You can request specific images through Photo Feature!
• Echo (Maestro, off by default): every girl and the reader get an Echo, a symbolic companion with one of 22 aspects. Matching aspects give 25% more relationship progress, competing ones 25% less. With Breakthrough, each aspect unlocks smaller abilities at 25, 50 and 75 spirit. Echo artwork can be generated or uploaded. Generated artwork downloads a background-removal model (about 100 MB, from IMG.LY) on first use; images stay on your device.
• Breaking Through the Silence (Maestro, off by default, needs Breakthrough): at full spirit and enough affection, help a girl face three limiting beliefs in The Unspoken, her inner world. Win and she earns a lasting growth tag. Includes three music tracks.

Updates

• Story Memory: new Light memory option (off by default) that sends a smaller, more relevant selection of memories to save tokens.
• Hare & Quill: sightings the columnist witnessed are no longer dropped when you haven't met the people involved.

Fixes

• Girls who were only posting a status update no longer text you an "invitation" or get added to your contacts.
• Exporting a backup no longer deletes your previous backup if the export fails.
• A damaged backup is rejected before it replaces anything.
• Regenerating a text reply now keeps the same context as a normal reply, and can send her photo.
• Rewinding past a Breakthrough ability refunds its spirit.
• Many smaller fixes across the community mods (City Life, Character Dynamics, Story Memory, the Whisper, Custom Soundtracks).

Install

1. Back up your saves.
2. If 0.1.0 is installed, run its Uninstall first.
3. Unzip Venus-Extracurriculars-0.2.0-no-exe.zip, run Install.cmd and pick your Venus University folder.

New mods that are off by default can be turned on from Mods on the main menu.

Install

You need the official Venus University 0.4.0 from itch.

1. Uninstall any other mods. The build installs on the official game only, and many of them are already included.
2. Back up your saves (the data folder next to Venus University.exe).
3. Download Venus-Extracurriculars-0.1.0-no-exe.zip below and extract the whole zip.
4. Run Install.cmd. If it asks, paste the path of your game folder (the one with Venus University.exe in it).

To uninstall, run Uninstall.cmd. It puts the official game back exactly as it was.

Saves

Your existing saves carry over. City Life and Character Dynamics apply to new games only.

Saves played with some mods, such as a fall semester, may not load in the official game after uninstalling.
