Scholion

σχόλιον (scholion): a note written in the margin of a manuscript. Scholion keeps notes in the margins of your code.

Context-first version control for coding agents. Each task runs in its own isolated jj workspace. Decisions and dead ends are recorded next to the code they concern. Any agent that picks the work up gets a deterministic, token-budgeted context pack instead of re-reading the repository.

  • One memory for every agent: Claude Code, Codex, Grok Build, Gemini CLI, Cursor Agent, or any MCP client.
  • One backlog: post work with tags; each agent takes what fits it, another agent reviews it, and the reviewer merges what it approves.
  • No LLM inside: packs and routing are deterministic rules.
  • Free and open source (MIT), no seat caps.

Scholion is vibe-coded: AI coding agents wrote almost all of it, with one human steering and reviewing. Treat it as an experiment, not audited infrastructure. See How this was built.

Quick start

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/vinhqbui/scholion/main/scripts/install.sh | sh
cd your-repo && av init # daemon up, repo added, Claude Code wired
av init --for codex --for gemini --for grok --for cursor # same MCP server for other agents

Then open the dashboard at http://localhost:7420/ui. More in Getting Started.
