v5.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@vycdev vycdev released this 01 Nov 17:34
7222705

Todo+2 5.4.0 adds Markdown task management, planned work windows, configurable task styles, and richer Todo views and notes.

Highlights

  • Manage Markdown checklists alongside prose, with shared Files/Due views, timers, dependencies, and archive support.
  • Opt in to @planned(...) daily or dated work windows with automatic active-tag highlighting. #82
  • Style task text by tags; edit titles and tags or toggle completion directly from the Files and Due sidebars.
  • Add fenced code notes, PNG/JPEG image attachments, numbered-list continuation, region folding, and tag focus.
  • Group tasks by selected tags and manually arrange embedded todos, including drag-and-drop on VS Code 1.66+.
  • Reuse cached decorations and project statistics, with fixes for due-date validation, workspace paths, embedded scanning, and Markdown archiving.
  • Read the refreshed documentation with eleven current VS Code screenshots, including planned work. #295

Upgrade notes

  • Task-text styles follow literal @done, @cancelled, @started, and @paused tags. Existing symbol-only completed tasks are not rewritten. Use Todo: Sync Paused Tags to migrate paused-task markers or repair manually edited timer history.
  • Markdown task discovery and numbered-list continuation are enabled by default. Planned work windows, tag grouping, and manual embedded ordering are opt-in.
  • VS Code 1.36 remains supported. Embedded drag-and-drop requires 1.66+; image paste requires 1.97+.

Contributor tooling now uses pinned pnpm 10.33.4, webpack 5, and Mocha 12. Development requires Node 22.12+ or 24.

v5.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@vycdev vycdev released this 24 Oct 17:47
e09848b

A large release: nearly 30 new features and well over a hundred fixes since 5.2.0. See the full changelog.

Highlights

  • Export Todo files to HTML or Markdown.
  • A Due view that groups @due(...) tasks by date.
  • Task timer pausing with Alt+T.
  • Tag-scoped and archive statistics.
  • A pending-task badge on the activity bar icon.
  • Embedded todos in the Problems panel.
  • Relative file://./ links.
  • Unarchiving tasks in same-file archives.
  • Many new view, color, and cleanup settings.
  • Much faster Todo file discovery in large workspaces, and a smaller download (2.7 MB).

Compatibility notes

  • Statistics visibility conditions no longer run JavaScript. Conditions that call functions now hide those statistics; the defaults are unaffected.
  • Todo: Toggle Timer now pauses and resumes the task timer. The previous status bar toggle is now Todo: Toggle Status Bar Timer.
  • The minimum VS Code version is now 1.36.

Choose a tag to compare

@vycdev vycdev released this 25 Nov 20:10

Version 5.1.0

    per-file archive files (default: InMultiSeparateFile).
  • Removed todo.indentation in favour of automatic detection based on vscode settings.
  • Improved archiving by preserving projects structure and merging tasks into already existing archived projects, #32
  • Added unit tests
