ZYNLEX v0.17.0

AI coding agents can now use ZYNLEX: Claude Code, Codex and other MCP
clients test your localhost app in the browser you have open, with you
watching. In our benchmark, Claude Code fixed the same bugs as with Playwright
MCP for about a third less (see benchmark/README.md).

Added

• An MCP server for AI coding agents, zynlex-mcp, installed with
  ZYNLEX and put on your PATH, so setup is claude mcp add zynlex zynlex-mcp
  (Settings → AI agents has the line for each agent). Agents open and read
  your localhost tabs, click and type with real input, check for new errors
  and failed requests after each code change, read the network log and
  console, take screenshots, emulate devices, wait for slow flows, run
  JavaScript, mock API responses, and do several actions in one call.
• Agents only reach localhost, plus staging environments you tick
  "agent" on in Settings → Environments. Never production.
• Flag for agent (Ctrl+Shift+E): click an element and type a note; the
  agent's next reply starts with it.
• Record steps for an agent: record yourself reproducing a bug; the agent
  reads each click and key with the errors it caused, and can turn the
  recording into a Playwright test, with your mocks, once the bug is fixed.
  Password values are never recorded.
• Take over: Pause in the status bar holds the agent while you use the
  page. The Agent Activity panel lists every call it made.
• Errors from before the agent connected come first in its first reply,
  grouped, so it doesn't have to reproduce what you already saw.

Fixed

• ZYNLEX leaked memory on every request: WebView2 strings (each URL, method,
  header) were copied and never freed.
• A tab's saved scroll and form state could be written into another page's
  inputs after a failed restore.
• An open empty tab navigated to the first character typed into the home page
  setting.
• The API Tester showed the capped size for responses over 10 MB instead of
  their real size.
• "Copied!" showed even when a copy failed.

Install

Download ZYNLEX_0.17.0_x64-setup.exe below and run it. It puts zynlex-mcp on your PATH, so connecting Claude Code is:

claude mcp add zynlex zynlex-mcp

Copies of 0.16 update themselves.

Requirements: Windows 10 or 11. The installer adds the WebView2 runtime if it's missing.

Unsigned build. Code signing is applied for (see CODE_SIGNING_POLICY.md). Until then Windows shows "Unknown publisher", and some antivirus software quarantines new builds.
