Control shortcuts typed while EContact is busy are no longer lost. GEM tells a program whether Control is held when it reads a key, not when the key was typed, so a ^N typed while EContact was reading its contacts arrived without Control and was dropped. EContact now also knows ^A to ^Z by their key codes (the family's key_ctrl, guidelines 3.2): the window's shortcuts (^N, ^E, ^F, ^R, ^G, ^W, ^Q, ^C), the keys of the window that opens when EMail or ECal asks you to choose people, ^X and ^V in the search field, ^X, ^C and ^V in dialog text fields, and the Hebrew keyboard, which could otherwise turn such a key into a Hebrew letter.
