Sim Data Manager 0.9.3
Sim Data Manager 0.9.3
This version does not touch ehorseracing.com. At all.
Removed, and why
The Claim Finder, the Sire Finder, and the My Stables and stable lookups are gone. They loaded pages from the site automatically, and the owners of the game have made it clear that is not allowed.
Here is where the owners stand. Open a browser, point a mouse, click through the site all day: fine. Let a program make the same requests, even slower than a browser and a mouse would: not tolerated, at any speed, for any reason. I think that line is hard to defend. A program that waits and fetches one page at a time takes no more from the site than the person sitting there clicking. But it is their site and their rule, so the code that did it is gone instead of left in as a switch you could turn on.
What is left is simple. Sim Data Manager runs from a race database on your computer. The database is updated weekly from Denovo's weekly database files. Nothing in the program goes out to the site, and there is a test in the project that fails if anything ever does.
Sire details still show, from data already in the database. Your race database, saved searches and settings stay as they are when you update.
