Choose a tag to compare

@withLinda withLinda released this 29 Oct 07:35

CodexPlusBar 1.3.0 — Encrypted backup and restore

Move your setup to another Mac with one password-protected .codexplusbarbackup file.

What's new

  • Export Backup and Restore Backup in Settings → Backup & Transfer and the Profiles More menu.
  • Restore directly from the empty Profiles screen on a new installation.
  • Transfer profile details, saved desktop/OpenChamber sign-ins, Email Tools, supported settings, dedicated Chrome data, and transferable native sessions.
  • Encrypted destination recovery before replacement, validated staging, atomic installation, and restart recovery for interrupted session/settings replay.
  • Native file selection, secure password fields, Finder reveal and sharing.
  • Text import is now labeled Import from Text….

Install or update

  1. Download CodexPlusBar.dmg below. One download supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs on macOS 14 or newer.
  2. Quit CodexPlusBar if it is running.
  3. Open the DMG and drag CodexPlusBar.app to Applications. Choose Replace when updating.
  4. Eject the DMG and open CodexPlusBar from Applications; it appears in the menu bar.

Updating keeps existing local profiles and sign-ins. To move Macs, update the old Mac, export a backup, install this release on the new Mac, and choose Restore Backup… there. Keep the backup password: it is required to unlock the file. Chrome may ask for sign-in again because some browser secrets are tied to the original Mac.

The app and DMG are Developer ID signed and Apple notarized. Version 1.3.0, build 14.

Verify the download

Download both assets into the same directory, then run:

shasum -a 256 -c CodexPlusBar.dmg.sha256

Expected: CodexPlusBar.dmg: OK.

Verification

  • 447 tests in 49 suites passed.
  • Universal release archive, strict signatures, notarization, stapled ticket and Gatekeeper validation passed.
  • Synthetic native export → empty-install restore verified with six profiles.

CodexPlusBar 1.2.5 — Account sync and multiline imports

Choose a tag to compare

@withLinda withLinda released this 26 Oct 17:12

CodexPlusBar 1.2.5 (build 13)

What's new

  • Automatic OpenChamber account sync: saved Codex profiles drive the local OpenAI OAuth login list, including labels and removals. Settings has an on-by-default switch; Profile Manager has Sync now and status feedback.
  • Three-line bulk imports: paste email, password, and 2FA secret on consecutive lines, optionally with numbered email headers. Existing pipe rows still work and can be mixed with blocks.
  • Clear import errors: incomplete or ambiguous blocks stop import, preserve following recognizable profiles, and report the original line numbers. Multiline credential spaces are preserved.
  • Updated installation guide: download, drag to Applications, verify the checksum, and replace an earlier installation using the README.

Automatic account sync requires OpenCode's native credential API (verified with OpenChamber 2.5.2 / OpenCode 2.1.4). Newly observed logins get 15 minutes to be saved to a matching profile; preexisting surplus logins on first enablement are eligible for removal immediately. Active surplus-account removal waits until no sessions are running; unknown idle status defers it. Other providers and API keys are preserved. See the account-sync guide.

Install or update

Requires macOS 14 or newer. The same DMG supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs; Google Chrome is needed for browser sign-in.

  1. Download CodexPlusBar.dmg below and quit an existing CodexPlusBar instance.
  2. Open the DMG, drag CodexPlusBar.app onto Applications, and choose Replace if updating.
  3. Eject the DMG and open CodexPlusBar from Applications. Its status appears in the menu bar, without a normal Dock icon.

Replacing the app keeps your saved profiles and sign-ins in Application Support. The app and DMG are Developer ID signed, and Apple accepted the notarization submission. The DMG has a stapled ticket.

Optional integrity check: download CodexPlusBar.dmg.sha256 beside the DMG, then run in that folder:

shasum -a 256 -c CodexPlusBar.dmg.sha256

Expected: CodexPlusBar.dmg: OK.

Verification

  • Swift Testing: 427 tests in 46 suites passed.
  • Universal Release archive built; packaged version/build checked as 1.2.5 / 13.
  • DMG integrity, contained app signature, Applications shortcut, notarization ticket, and Gatekeeper assessments passed.
  • Checksum generated and verified after stapling.
  • Live account-switch and manual GUI installation tests were not run for this release.

CodexPlusBar 1.2.4 — DMG refresh

Choose a tag to compare

@withLinda withLinda released this 26 Oct 11:10

CodexPlusBar 1.2.4

A refreshed, signed and notarized DMG with clearer installation, download verification, and update instructions. This release keeps the app behavior from 1.2.3, including desktop-switch recovery.

What changed

  • Bumped the app to version 1.2.4, build 12.
  • Rebuilt the universal app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 14 or newer.
  • Updated the README with an installation shortcut, step-by-step DMG setup, optional checksum verification, and upgrading from 1.2.3 or earlier.

Install or update

  1. Download CodexPlusBar.dmg below.
  2. Quit any running copy of CodexPlusBar from its menu bar panel.
  3. Open the DMG and drag CodexPlusBar.app onto Applications, replacing the older copy if prompted.
  4. Eject the DMG and open CodexPlusBar from Applications. Look for its menu bar status; it has no normal Dock icon.
  5. Install Google Chrome if needed, then add profiles and sign in.

Replacing the app preserves saved profiles, desktop/OpenChamber sign-ins, and Chrome profiles under ~/Library/Application Support/CodexPlusBar. Xcode, codex-auth, and CodexAuthHelper are not required.

For optional download verification, save CodexPlusBar.dmg.sha256 beside the DMG and run this command in that folder before opening the DMG:

shasum -a 256 -c CodexPlusBar.dmg.sha256

Expected result: CodexPlusBar.dmg: OK.

Verification

  • make test AGENT_NAME=release-1.2.4: Xcode reported TEST SUCCEEDED; Swift Testing reported 377 tests in 41 suites passed. Three opt-in OpenChamber integration probes were skipped.
  • Release archive succeeded; mounted app metadata confirms version 1.2.4/build 12 and macOS 14.0 minimum.
  • App and DMG are Developer ID signed, accepted by Apple notarization, and stapled.
  • Gatekeeper accepted the app, DMG, mounted app, and app copied from the DMG.
  • The DMG includes the Applications shortcut; both arm64 and x86_64 executable slices were verified.
  • SHA-256: 48a8668145c9af0c1abc0755dd7ba933ad1af04a420316723ec88447823a2f8f.
  • Manual Finder installation, release-app GUI launch, live account switching, and testing on a physical Intel Mac were not performed.

CodexPlusBar 1.2.3 — Desktop switch recovery

Choose a tag to compare

@withLinda withLinda released this 03 Oct 01:48

CodexPlusBar 1.2.3

Fixes desktop account switches that repeatedly reported that ChatGPT could not close, even after its main window had quit.

What changed

  • Known ChatGPT crash-reporting and keyboard-monitor utilities may remain running after quit without blocking a sign-in switch.
  • Only their confirmed bundle locations are excluded. The desktop, Codex app-server, renderers, and unknown helpers still block credential changes until they exit.
  • Real-process regression tests cover both permitted utilities and seven blocking executable locations.
  • Updated the README for the 1.2.3 DMG and upgrading from 1.2.2.

The prompt-free normal quit and bounded force-quit fallback from 1.2.2 remain available. Force quitting can interrupt active work.

Install or update

Requires macOS 14 or newer. The universal app supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

  1. Download CodexPlusBar.dmg below.
  2. Quit an older running copy of CodexPlusBar.
  3. Open the DMG and drag CodexPlusBar.app to Applications, replacing the older copy if needed.
  4. Eject the DMG and open CodexPlusBar from Applications; look for its menu bar status.

Replacing the app preserves saved profiles, desktop/OpenChamber sign-ins, and Chrome profiles. Xcode, codex-auth, and CodexAuthHelper are not required.

Optional download verification: save CodexPlusBar.dmg.sha256 beside the DMG and run this command in that folder:

shasum -a 256 -c CodexPlusBar.dmg.sha256

Release verification

  • Version 1.2.3, build 11; universal arm64 and x86_64 executable.
  • App and DMG are Developer ID signed, accepted by Apple notarization, and stapled.
  • Gatekeeper accepted the app, the DMG, and the app copied out of the mounted DMG.
  • make test AGENT_NAME=release-1.2.3: 377 tests in 41 suites passed; Xcode reported TEST SUCCEEDED.
  • Release archive completed successfully; mounted DMG metadata and Applications shortcut were verified.
  • Live account switching and a manual Finder installation were not performed for this release verification.

CodexPlusBar 1.2.2 — Reliable desktop switching

Choose a tag to compare

@withLinda withLinda released this 03 Oct 00:48

CodexPlusBar 1.2.2

What's changed

  • ChatGPT / Codex desktop sign-in switching reopens ChatGPT with its quit-confirmation opt-out, allowing subsequent normal quits without the scheduled-task dialog.
  • If normal quit is still blocked after 12 seconds, CodexPlusBar force quits only the original surviving desktop instances, then gives background processes a separate 12-second exit budget before changing credentials.
  • Cancellation prevents force escalation. Failed shutdown or cancelled switching preserves the previous sign-in, with reopening handled by the existing recovery flow.
  • Includes the quieter Profile Manager, native desktop sign-ins, OpenChamber 2 missing-connection recovery, and reset-window sorting from earlier releases.

The quit-confirmation opt-out is an undocumented ChatGPT launch setting and may change in a future ChatGPT update. It also suppresses manual quit confirmation for that instance. An instance launched elsewhere can still show the dialog on its first switch. Force quitting can interrupt active chats or lose unsaved work.

Install or update

  1. Download CodexPlusBar.dmg below. Requires macOS 14 or newer; one app supports Apple silicon and Intel.
  2. Quit an older running copy, open the DMG, and drag CodexPlusBar.app into Applications, replacing the old app if asked.
  3. Eject the DMG and open CodexPlusBar from Applications. Look for it in the menu bar, not the Dock.

Replacing the app preserves saved profiles and sign-ins in your local Application Support folder. Xcode, codex-auth, and CodexAuthHelper are not required.

To verify the download, place both assets in the same folder and run:

shasum -a 256 -c CodexPlusBar.dmg.sha256

Release verification

  • Version 1.2.2, build 10; universal arm64 and x86_64 archive.
  • Swift Testing reported 375 tests in 41 suites passed; three opt-in OpenChamber runtime/integration probes were skipped.
  • App and DMG are Developer ID signed, accepted by Apple notarization, stapled, and accepted by Gatekeeper.
  • The mounted DMG contains the signed/stapled app and an Applications shortcut; image integrity and SHA-256 checks passed.
  • Live account switching, interactive drag-installation, and fresh UI checks were not performed in this release session.

CodexPlusBar 1.2.1 — Profile details polish

Choose a tag to compare

@withLinda withLinda released this 29 Sep 07:14

CodexPlusBar 1.2.1

What's changed

  • Empty profile notes stay behind Add notes; saved notes open automatically, and clearing notes keeps the editor mounted while you continue editing.
  • Profile text, private, and notes fields have quiet idle borders and clearer focus/Increase Contrast borders.
  • Dark Hard uses deeper surfaces and adjusted Codex/Claude card colors; OTP panels have less decorative outlining.
  • Includes the native ChatGPT / Codex desktop sign-ins introduced in 1.2.0, OpenChamber 2 recovery, and reset-window sorting.

Install or update

  1. Download CodexPlusBar.dmg below. Requires macOS 14 or newer; one app supports Apple silicon and Intel.
  2. Quit an older running copy, open the DMG, and drag CodexPlusBar.app into Applications, replacing the old app if asked.
  3. Eject the DMG and open the app from Applications. Look for it in the menu bar, not the Dock.

Saved profiles and sign-ins remain in your local Application Support folder when replacing the app. Xcode, codex-auth, and CodexAuthHelper are not required.

To verify the download, place both assets in the same folder and run:

shasum -a 256 -c CodexPlusBar.dmg.sha256

Release verification

  • Version 1.2.1, build 9; universal arm64 and x86_64 archive.
  • 362 tests in 40 suites passed.
  • App and DMG are Developer ID signed, accepted by Apple notarization, stapled, and accepted by Gatekeeper.
  • Mounted DMG contains the signed/stapled app and an Applications shortcut.
  • Interactive installation and fresh keyboard/visual checks were not performed in this release session.

CodexPlusBar 1.2.0 — Native desktop sign-ins

Choose a tag to compare

@withLinda withLinda released this 29 Sep 04:21

CodexPlusBar 1.2.0 — Native desktop sign-ins

Install or update

  1. Download CodexPlusBar.dmg below (macOS 14+, Apple silicon and Intel).
  2. Quit any running older copy of CodexPlusBar.
  3. Open the DMG and drag CodexPlusBar.app to Applications, replacing the old copy if prompted.
  4. Eject the DMG and open CodexPlusBar from Applications; it appears in the menu bar.

The app and DMG are Developer ID signed, notarized by Apple, and stapled. Replacing the app keeps your saved profiles and sign-ins.

Optional download verification: save both assets in the same folder, then run:

shasum -a 256 -c CodexPlusBar.dmg.sha256

SHA-256: f25e5429c172b8af228017e9e0ec30617355a7dd5cf137ca77cca7e105b1765c

What's new

  • Native ChatGPT / Codex desktop sign-ins: save the current desktop account in Profile Manager and later use Switch and open, without installing codex-auth or CodexAuthHelper.
  • Visible save actions: separate desktop and OpenChamber rows show saved state, busy state and action feedback.
  • Verified switching and recovery: check saved credentials with OpenAI, retain refreshed token generations, preserve the outgoing account, and report credential recovery separately from app-reopening failures.
  • Storage support: standard ~/.codex/auth.json, direct macOS Keychain and auto selection. Keychain may request access; unsupported runtime/managed/encrypted/ephemeral configurations show a clear error.
  • Legacy import: unambiguous existing helper snapshots are read without modifying the originals or replacing newer native snapshots.
  • Concurrent-edit protection: browser refresh keeps newly saved desktop identities, and desktop save retains unrelated metadata edits.
  • OpenChamber 2 missing-connection recovery, reset-window sorting, and the compact capacity-first interface remain included.

Desktop snapshots are stored in owner-only files under ~/Library/Application Support/CodexPlusBar/DesktopSignIns; CodexPlusBar does not encrypt those files. The profile catalog contains only desktop identity metadata. Browser and OpenChamber credentials remain independent.

Verification

  • 359 Swift tests in 40 suites passed.
  • Real isolated OpenChamber/OpenCode 2 integration checks and production Swift client passed.
  • Universal Release archive: x86_64 arm64, version 1.2.0, build 8.
  • App and DMG notarization accepted; signatures, stapled tickets, Gatekeeper assessment, mounted-image contents and final checksum verified.
  • Real-account desktop switching and a manual Finder drag/install/launch were not performed during this release session; native transaction regressions use isolated credentials and adapters.

CodexPlusBar 1.1.5 — Saved sign-in recovery

Choose a tag to compare

@withLinda withLinda released this 27 Sep 02:10

CodexPlusBar 1.1.5

Fixed

  • Recover saved OpenAI accounts when OpenChamber 2 has removed or replaced their native connection IDs, including the issue observed with OpenChamber 2.0.2 / OpenCode 2.0.16.
  • Confirm that a connection is missing before using its saved sign-in; verify account identity and OpenAI access before importing it again.
  • Preserve refreshed tokens for retry when later verification fails, and report bridge or response errors without treating them as deleted connections.

Install or update

  1. Download CodexPlusBar.dmg below.
  2. Quit an older running copy of CodexPlusBar.
  3. Open the DMG and drag CodexPlusBar.app to Applications, replacing the older copy if present.
  4. Eject the DMG and open CodexPlusBar from Applications; its status appears in the menu bar.

One universal download supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs on macOS 14 or newer. Both the app and DMG are Developer ID signed, notarized by Apple, and stapled. Updating preserves saved profiles, OpenChamber sign-ins, and Chrome sign-ins in Application Support.

For optional download verification, put both assets in the same folder and run:

shasum -a 256 -c CodexPlusBar.dmg.sha256

If a saved OpenChamber sign-in itself is no longer accepted, sign in again in OpenChamber and choose Save current sign-in in CodexPlusBar.

Verification

  • 332 Swift tests across 38 suites passed, including production-client recovery after deleting a connection on an isolated real OpenCode server.
  • Separate installed-runtime and bridge read probes passed.
  • Universal Release archive passed with warnings treated as errors.
  • Mounted DMG: app signatures, notarization ticket, Gatekeeper acceptance, version 1.1.5 (build 7), both architectures, bridge resource, and Applications link checked.
  • SHA-256: 9bce3eaa6c33f876067fb42ac69c23a6d57b6d5266fb52e1d6b64d78e1e5107a.

CodexPlusBar 1.1.4 — OpenChamber 2 support

Choose a tag to compare

@withLinda withLinda released this 24 Sep 02:25

CodexPlusBar 1.1.4 (build 6)

What's new

  • Support OpenChamber 2.0.0 and its bundled OpenCode 2.0.15 credential store.
  • Import saved OpenAI sign-ins through a bundled local bridge, then use native credential activation for later switches and provider reloads.
  • Preserve live OpenAI verification, refreshed credentials, failed-switch recovery, and OpenCode 1 compatibility.
  • Verify the local OpenCode 2 process identity rather than accepting an HTML health response.

Install or update

  1. Download CodexPlusBar.dmg below; it supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs on macOS 14 or newer.
  2. Quit any running copy of CodexPlusBar.
  3. Open the DMG and drag CodexPlusBar.app to Applications, replacing the previous version if needed.
  4. Eject the DMG and open the app from Applications; look for its menu bar status item.

The app and DMG are Developer ID signed, Apple-notarized, and stapled. Updating preserves profiles and Chrome sign-ins in ~/Library/Application Support/CodexPlusBar.

For OpenChamber switching, keep OpenChamber running locally with an OpenAI account connected. Use Save current sign-in or switch an existing saved profile; the bridge installs automatically. Wait for switched and verified, and refresh OpenChamber's Usage panel if it still shows older data.

Verify the download

Download both assets into the same directory, then run:

shasum -a 256 -c CodexPlusBar.dmg.sha256

Verification

  • Swift Testing: 328 tests across 38 suites passed, including the production Swift client against an isolated real OpenCode 2 server.
  • A separate 328-test run passed with installed-runtime discovery and bridge-read probes enabled.
  • Real-server checks passed for imports, active readback, provider reloads across locations, stale-write rejection, rollback, and legacy/other-provider preservation.
  • Universal Release archive, app/DMG signatures, notarization, stapled tickets, Gatekeeper, mounted-image contents, and SHA-256 checks passed.

CodexPlusBar 1.1.3 — Verified OpenChamber switching

Choose a tag to compare

@withLinda withLinda released this 20 Sep 15:03

CodexPlusBar 1.1.3

Verified OpenChamber/OpenAI switching, packaged as a signed and Apple-notarized DMG.

What's improved

  • Saved OpenChamber/OpenAI sign-ins are checked with OpenAI before a switch reports success.
  • Expired or rejected access tokens are refreshed when possible; rotated refresh tokens are saved immediately.
  • A different-account switch is checked again after installation and restores the previous sign-in on verification failure when the local file still matches the app's write.
  • Same-account repairs retain refreshed credentials, and failures explain whether the old sign-in was kept, restored, or changed elsewhere.
  • Progress and success messages explain verification and remind you to refresh OpenChamber's Usage panel if it still shows an older result.

Download and install

Requires macOS 14 or newer, Google Chrome, and an internet connection. One DMG supports Apple silicon and Intel.

  1. Download CodexPlusBar.dmg.
  2. Quit the running CodexPlusBar app if updating.
  3. Open the DMG and drag CodexPlusBar.app to Applications, replacing the old copy if present.
  4. Eject the DMG and open CodexPlusBar from Applications; look for it in the menu bar.

Replacing the app preserves saved profiles and Chrome sign-ins in ~/Library/Application Support/CodexPlusBar.

Both the app and DMG are Developer ID signed, notarized by Apple, and carry stapled notarization tickets. Bundle version: 1.1.3 (5).

Verify the download

Download CodexPlusBar.dmg.sha256 alongside the DMG, then run:

cd ~/Downloads
shasum -a 256 -c CodexPlusBar.dmg.sha256

Expected SHA-256:

68d3c86dd68d7e779c3d1bf1ae4b8f778328dfd7433c09a77c0cb29b9af0a149

Verification

  • Strict Debug build and universal Release archive succeeded.
  • Swift Testing reported 317 passing tests in 37 suites; the Xcode test wrapper timed out during shutdown and did not finalize its result bundle.
  • App and DMG notarization: Accepted; stapling, signature, Gatekeeper, mounted-app metadata, and checksum checks passed.
  • Manual GUI installation and live account switching were not performed for this release; switching regressions use isolated fixtures.
