Added support for external controllers through Linux evdev.

  • Supports shoulder buttons and four-direction right-stick input.
  • Tested with 8BitDo Ultimate 2.4G in Bluetooth D-input and USB XInput modes.
  • Preserves built-in Steam Deck controls, hold-to-repeat, hot-plugging, and keyboard navigation suppression.

Move the text caret on Steam Deck without leaving the on-screen keyboard.

Features

  • Move left and right with L1 and R1.
  • Move in all four directions with the right stick.
  • Hold a bumper or the stick to repeat movement.
  • Activates only while Steam's on-screen keyboard and its text target are active.
  • Uses Steam's built-in keyboard arrow actions for reliable Game Mode support.
  • Suppresses conflicting Gamepad UI navigation while caret controls are active.

Installation

Install CaretControl-0.6.0.zip through Decky Loader's developer menu.

Known limitation

In Firefox's address bar in Desktop Mode, Steam's native on-screen keyboard input path may display control characters as squares. Firefox in Game Mode is unaffected.
