Re-run the installer on an existing Mini to update:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/wr/macintosh-mini/main/setup.sh | bash

New

  • Quieter speaker. No hiss, burble or ticking while the Mac is silent. A faint click about 3 s after a sound is normal.
  • Mac OS 8.1, ready to go. No disk image? A new Basilisk II install offers a ready-made Mac OS 8.1 disk. --get-disk downloads it without asking.
  • Printable guides for setting up a finished Mini and for cutting the USB-A port.

Fixed

  • The startup chime no longer crackles on Minis set up from a fresh card.
  • A fresh card no longer stops at "Installing apt packages" right after the Pi's first boot.
  • The Mac starts again on Pis that had lost XWayland.
  • --hotspot-setup restarts into setup instead of shutting down.
  • The installer stops if it isn't on a Raspberry Pi (--skip-pi-check overrides).
  • The bezel's screen opening is 0.4 mm larger each way.
