Dusklight Xbox 360 0.1.1.0
Dusklight on the Xbox 360, version 0.1.1.0:
0.1.0.0 with fixes for the game closing in
cutscenes and for grass slowing it down. It's the build the
Homebrew App Store installs, and the store offers it as an update
to 0.1.0.0. Dusklight's team doesn't make or support this port, so report its problems here, not to them.
Fixed
- The game closing in effect-heavy cutscenes, with nothing in
dusklight.logto say why: Castle Town's people
becoming spirits in Zelda's story (#6,
#23) and Fyrus's defeat in the Goron Mines
(#13,
#14,
#15,
#26). A frame in those scenes needs more than the 2 MB of
shader constants the port gave each frame; it now has 4 MB. If the game ever closes this way again, dusklight.log
now names what ran out. - Grass and flowers slowing the game down, worst in Faron Woods
(#27). They're drawn with a third fewer vertices, and
their vertices are prepared for the GPU about four times faster, so Faron's entrance from Hyrule Field holds 30 fps
where it fell to 26-29.
The crashes reported in Kakariko (#1,
#8), at Faron's spirit of light
(#11) and at the Forest Temple's boss
(#25) close the game the same silent way and may be fixed
too, but they haven't been tested. If one still happens, comment on its issue with your dusklight.log.
What you need
- An RGH or JTAG Xbox 360. The title isn't signed, so a console without one of these won't start it.
Dusklight-Xbox360-0.1.1.0.zipbelow. It holds Dusklight ready in its folder,apps\dusklight\, with the
resfolder it needs, and aREADME.txtbeside it.- Your own copy of the US GameCube disc, GZ2E01, as a plain, full-size ISO named
dusklight.iso: 1,459,978,240
bytes. It isn't included. Don't use.ciso,.rvzor any other compressed or trimmed image.
Beta 1's notes say how to convert yours
with Dolphin.
Updating from 0.1.0.0: only dusklight.xex has changed. Copy the new one over apps\dusklight\dusklight.xex, or
update in the store. Your saves stay.
New install: copy the zip's apps folder to the root of the console's hard drive, the drive FTP shows as Hdd1.
If an apps folder is already there, copy dusklight into it instead. Put dusklight.iso in apps\dusklight\,
beside dusklight.xex. Without the disc, Dusklight closes as soon as it starts. Start dusklight.xex from your
dashboard or the store.
dusklight-0.1.1.0.zip is the package the store installs, listed in its signed catalogue. You don't need to download
it.
Saves, settings and compiled shaders are kept in TwilitRealm\Dusklight\ in Dusklight's folder.
Known issues
As in 0.1.0.0: leave Unlock Framerate off, expect pop-in on an area's first visit while its shaders compile, and Ordon
runs at about 27 to 30 fps. Report problems with the
problem report form, attaching
dusklight.log if the game crashed or froze, and your save if you can.
Dusklight Xbox 360 0.1.0.0
Dusklight on the Xbox 360, version 0.1.0.0: beta 1
with Xbox 360 button prompts on the HUD, in the controller's colours, and a game heap sized for the Xbox 360's 32-bit
pointers, which gives 52 MB of memory back over long play. It's the build the
Homebrew App Store installs, and it carries its version, so the store
can offer later releases as updates. Dusklight's team doesn't make or support this port, so report its problems here,
not to them.

Dusklight Xbox 360 beta 1
The first beta of Dusklight on the Xbox 360, a homebrew port built with xsdk and
drawn through vulkan4xenon at 1280x720 with 4 samples of multisampling.
Dusklight's team doesn't make or support this port, so report its problems here, not to them.
What you need
-
An RGH or JTAG Xbox 360. Testers report it runs under BadUpdate too, which we haven't tested ourselves. The title
isn't signed, so a console without one of these won't start it. -
Dusklight-Xbox360-beta-1.zipbelow, which holdsdusklight.xexand theresfolder it needs. -
Your own copy of the US GameCube disc, GZ2E01, as a plain, full-size ISO named
dusklight.iso: 1,459,978,240
bytes. It isn't included.Don't use
.ciso,.rvzor any other compressed or trimmed image. The Xbox 360 reads only a plain ISO, and
Wii discs aren't read either. To convert yours, open it in Dolphin: right-click the game
in Dolphin's list, choose Convert File..., set Format to ISO, and convert. Rename the result
dusklight.iso.
Put dusklight.xex, the res folder and dusklight.iso in one folder on the console's hard disk, by FTP for example,
and start dusklight.xex from your dashboard. To quit, press the Guide button and choose Xbox Home.
Saves and settings are kept in TwilitRealm\Dusklight\ in that folder, which the game makes on its first run. Back it
up to keep your saves.
Expect pop-in at first. Many of the game's shaders come built into dusklight.xex, but the rest are compiled on
the console the first time an area needs them, so on your first runs things pop in while that happens. Each one is
kept in TwilitRealm\Dusklight\shaders\ once compiled, so it's only compiled once and later visits don't pop in.
Known issues
- Leave Unlock Framerate off (Settings, Video, Rendering). It's off unless you turn it on. With it on, the game
draws up to 60 frames a second, about twice what the Xbox 360 can keep up with: the frame rate falls into the teens,
worst on Epona in Ordon, and in our testing the game froze after a while. Turning it off brings the frame rate back. - Pop-in on the first visit to an area, while its shaders compile (above).
- Ordon runs at about 27 to 30 fps.
Reporting a problem
Open an issue with the
problem report form: what went
wrong and where, whether it happens every time and how to make it happen, and your save if you can. Say whether
Unlock Framerate was on.
If the game crashed or froze, attach dusklight.log too. It's in the folder with dusklight.xex, and it says where
the game stopped. Each start of the game replaces it, so copy it before you start the game again.
