Flowlight 0.1.4
Early preview. Flowlight shows which app on your Mac talked to which domain, over which protocol, and how much it sent. It watches AI agents, and the tools and MCP servers they start, for anything you wouldn't approve.
What's new in 0.1.4
- HTTPS inspection (optional, off by default). Turn it on in the new Inspect view and Flowlight runs a local proxy (
127.0.0.1:8877) with a certificate authority created on your Mac. It decrypts the apps you route through it and shows every request and response: headers, bodies, status and timing.- AI agents and their tools only, by default. Other apps sent through the proxy pass through encrypted and aren't recorded.
- Open Inspected Terminal starts a shell whose agents (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Aider) and tools go through Flowlight, with nothing trusted system-wide. Optionally trust the certificate and use the system proxy for desktop apps; the proxy file falls back to a direct connection whenever Flowlight isn't running.
- Never decrypted: Apple services, password managers, anything you add, and apps that pin their certificates (detected and passed through automatically). Credential headers are never stored, recordings are kept 3 days, and one button removes the certificate, its trust setting and everything recorded.
- Tool calls from the model's own responses. With inspection on, Flowlight reads every tool call a model asks an agent to run (Anthropic, OpenAI Chat and Responses, Gemini, and MCP
tools/call), and links each tool's request back to the call that caused it: curl → httpbin.org ← Bash: curl -s https://httpbin.org/uuid. AI Agents lists each agent's tools with counts and the latest command. - Traffic through the proxy is counted for the app that sent it, not for Flowlight.
