Flowlight 0.2.7
What's new in 0.2.7

Run in the background. Settings › General › Run in the background drops the Dock icon and the Cmd-Tab entry. Flowlight keeps recording and stays reachable from the menu bar, which gains Show Dock Icon to undo it. No relaunch needed either way.

Switching to the extension shows current traffic immediately. The extension holds what it captures while no app is connected, and it now sends the newest second first and backfills the history behind it. Before, a long gap had to drain completely before anything current appeared — which is why the live view could sit empty after switching source. It can hold an hour again rather than five minutes, so quitting Flowlight for a while no longer loses what the filter saw.
-
Capture says that the filter outlives the app. A system extension runs on its own: after you quit Flowlight the filter carries on inspecting connections until you press Disable or Uninstall. Nothing reaches the app while it isn't running, but the filter is still there, and a tool for noticing invisible background activity should say so about itself.
