Generated hash caches now live outside synchronized trees.

  • Linux: $XDG_CACHE_HOME/bbrsync or ~/.cache/bbrsync
  • macOS: ~/Library/Caches/bbrsync
  • Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\bbrsync
  • --cache-dir and BBRSYNC_CACHE_DIR override the local process cache root.
  • Client and daemon caches are configured independently.
  • Cache files are keyed by normalized absolute synchronized roots.
  • No legacy in-tree cache migration is performed.

Ignore and filtering behavior is unchanged in this release.

This tool can overwrite or delete data. Keep backups and test on disposable folders first. Use only on a trusted local network or VPN; traffic is not encrypted.
