v1.0.0
The first tagged release of gitstats: a board where friends sign in with GitHub, join a crew with an invite code, and compare coding activity. Live at https://gitstats.org, demo at https://gitstats.org/demo. Full history in docs/CHANGELOG.md.
Boards
- Crew boards and a global board, ranked by lines (added + deleted) or commits, over a week, a month, a year or any custom range, with deltas against the period before.
- Crew race, member timelines, repo pulse, momentum arrows, per-repo pages and the repos a crew shares.
- Crew admin: rename, roll the invite code, remove a member, leave.
Your own page
- Lines per day with a trailing mean, a year calendar, month blocks, language share, weekday profile and repo mix.
- Streaks counted every day or weekdays only.
- A share card and a README badge for your GitHub profile.
Private and work repos
- The CLI (
npx @yaroslavhaidash/gitstats-cli@latest link) counts commits and lines on your computer and sends numbers only; repo names only if you opt in. It syncs daily and updates itself. - Unmerged branch work is counted and shown separately.
Privacy and control
- A visibility matrix: who may open your page, whose numbers include private repos, and who sees repo names, for crewmates and for everyone.
- Hide any single repo's name; export everything the server holds; delete your account.
- The GitHub
reposcope is never requested and OAuth tokens are never stored.
Under the hood
- Nightly snapshot that budgets its time, chains itself and skips repos that have not moved; pages read only Postgres.
- Cached boards, loading skeletons, error boundaries, a phone layout, a command palette,
/api/healthand failure alerts. - MIT licensed; self-hosting notes in the README.
