octa_core_utils

Minimalist UNIX-like command line utilities for Windows written in pure C.

octa_core_utils is a lightweight toolkit that brings common POSIX-style commands to Windows without requiring environments such as MSYS, Cygwin, or WSL.

All utilities are designed to be:

  • small binaries
  • fast startup
  • portable
  • dependency-free

Built using native Windows toolchains such as MinGW and MSVC.

Philosophy

This project aims to provide a minimal collection of essential command line tools that behave similarly to common UNIX utilities while remaining fully compatible with Windows environments.

Design principles:

  • single-purpose executables
  • minimal dependencies
  • easy compilation
  • usable in CMD, PowerShell, or custom shells
