WebCodex v0.5.0-rc.2 — Preview / 预发布测试版

Release candidate — not a stable release. This GitHub-only build is intended for early adopters evaluating the v0.5 tool and Desktop experience. For stability, continue using v0.4.6. The RC does not imply that a stable v0.5.0 release is imminent.

What's included / 包含内容

  • Recent 0.5.x runtime, MCP tool-discovery, Workflow Session, Agent/Job continuation, and Desktop changes from this exact release source. This is a preview; unattended Host continuation and cross-conversation behavior are not guaranteed on every client.
  • Fixes for the finish_coding_task nested read_workspace_changes contract, direct list_jobs coverage, JSON-preserving smoke checks, and bounded Job observation regression tests.
  • Native CLI, Server and Runner archives for Linux x64/ARM64, macOS x64/ARM64, and Windows x64/ARM64.
  • Primary Desktop distributions for macOS Apple Silicon and Windows x64/ARM64. macOS Intel Desktop is a separate supplemental artifact and may be attached later.

Installation and upgrade cautions / 安装升级说明

  1. Back up before upgrading. Compared with v0.4.6, MCP tool schemas, Environment data, Server/Runner identities and Desktop behavior may have compatibility changes. Prefer isolated nonproduction testing and avoid mixing binary versions. / 升级前备份状态，优先在隔离环境测试，避免混用 Server、Runner 和 Desktop 的不同版本。
  2. Refresh MCP schemas after upgrading. Reconnect the ChatGPT/WebCodex App and refresh the tool list; open a new ChatGPT conversation when old tool definitions remain cached. / 更新后重新连接并刷新 MCP 工具 Schema；旧对话仍缓存旧签名时请新开对话。
  3. GitHub binaries only. This RC does not publish an npm package or update npm latest; it also does not replace the current stable GitHub Release. / 本次仅发布 GitHub 二进制，不发布 npm，也不替换当前稳定版。
  4. The macOS Apple Silicon DMG uses persistent self-signed distribution identity rather than Apple Developer ID notarization; follow the macOS install guidance and verify the checksum. / macOS DMG 为持久自签名版本，不是 Apple 公证版本，请按照安装指南并核对校验和。

Artifact provenance / 产物来源

  • Source tag: v0.5.0-rc.2; source commit: 683256d7cd93267f65cce301055cacf17667fd54.
  • Native build: GitHub Actions run #38347100088. All six native platform builds and three primary Desktop distributions completed successfully.
  • Assembly note: The aggregate workflow run was marked failed because the release-manifest generator incorrectly rejected the SemVer -rc.2 suffix. The exact successful same-run candidates were collected on the sf release host, their original nine SHA-256 sidecars and macOS signing evidence were checked, and the release metadata was assembled and independently verified using the original bundle validator with a prerelease-aware version parser. No binaries were rebuilt or replaced. The workflow failure status has not been represented as a successful CI run.
  • SHA256SUMS covers the six native archives, three primary Desktop distributions, and optional runtime compatibility manifest.
