Release list
pi-aside 0.4.1
It needs Chrome 140 or later.
Added
- A message waiting while pi works has two buttons. Take back puts its text back in the drafts, and the task goes on; its attachments are not kept. Send now stops the answer and sends the waiting messages at once, in the order you sent them, with their attachments. Steps already done stay.
- Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on a Mac) in the message box sends the message now, the same way. Settings > Sending says so.
Changed
- Messages that wait for the answer go to pi together, in one turn, when the answer ends. Before, they went one per answer.
- The scripts card says "By default, pi shows you the code and asks before running a script." and that Settings > Tools opens the same page later.
- The note under Screenshot page in Settings > Tools is shorter: the image may include what you typed into fields, and goes to your model's provider.

pi-aside 0.4.0
It needs Chrome 140 or later.
Added
- Setup asks for Chrome's "Allow User Scripts" switch with a card after the provider: two steps, and the card closes by itself once the switch is on. Skip for now changes no setting. When only the switch blocks a script, pi says so.
- Update in Settings > Models downloads the current model list from pi.dev, the pi project's catalog, so new models show in the picker without a new pi-aside. It sends no key, chat, or page. In the picker, a search that finds nothing links to it.
Changed
- Thinking starts at Medium on a new installation, since pi-aside is now used mostly for page tasks. A level you chose, Off included, stays.
- OpenAI comes first among the providers. A ChatGPT sign-in starts on GPT-6.1 Sol; an OpenAI key starts on GPT-6 Luna.
- The toolbar button's tooltip says what pi-aside is: "pi-aside: AI agent in the side panel".
- Screenshots and banners have a new look, on paper with a highlighter band.

pi-aside 0.3.1
It needs Chrome 140 or later.
Added
These were never released on their own: 0.3.0 was skipped.
- When pi has answered, the task's steps fold under one line, such as "12 steps" or "12 steps · 1 failed", so the question and the answer show together. Click the line to see the steps. A task that ended without an answer (Stop, an error, a restart) keeps its steps shown, with why a step failed.
- pi draws diagrams in its answers as Mermaid, such as flowcharts and sequence diagrams, rather than as character art. Ask for another format and it uses that.
Changed
- The extension's summary says what pi does: "It clicks, types, writes and runs its own scripts." It no longer says "Unofficial"; the README and the store description still do.
Fixed
- A step that did not run says why in plain words ("not run" and a short reason), not pi-durable's raw
<harness>text with the whole arguments.
Removed
- The second zip,
pi-aside-<version>-no-run-script.zip. A release holds one zip again.
Install
pi-aside-0.3.1.zip: unzip it into a new folder, open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, click Load unpacked, and choose that folder. To update, unzip over that folder and click the reload icon on pi-aside's card. See the README.
Full Changelog: v0.2.0...v0.3.1
pi-aside 0.2.0
It needs Chrome 140 or later.
Added
- When a task ends, each step folds to its line, so your question and the answer stand out. Click a step to see what it did, its code, or its screenshot. Why a step failed stays shown.
- The act card has Allow for this chat: pi acts on that site in the chat's later answers without asking, until a new chat or Chrome closes. Scripts still ask.
Fixed
- A step that Stop or a restart cut short says so in plain words ("Stopped before this step finished.", "Interrupted by a restart; it may have partly run."), not pi-durable's raw
<harness>text. A stopped click or script adds that the page may already have changed. - The message box has focus when the panel opens.
- A shorter empty state on a page.
